This 100% part-time, remote position provides direct patient care and clinical consultation for mild to moderate behavioral health needs in the GG OBGYN Practice. Responsibilities include diagnostic evaluation, psychoeducation, short-term psychotherapy, treatment planning and appropriate referrals to longer-term or higher-acuity care.
The therapist will ensure regulatory compliance through timely documentation, coding, and record-keeping within 24-48 hours, while collaborating with other providers to integrate behavioral health into patient care effectively.
Weekly hours: 8-12
CLINICAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Provide direct patient care and clinical consultation to address mild to moderate behavioral health needs for patients served in the GG OBGYN Practice including:
o Diagnostic evaluation, psychoeducation, psychotherapy, treatment planning and other services as indicated for patients presenting with mild to moderate symptoms of anxiety, depression, adjustment disorders, PTSD, OCD, insomnia, chronic pain, distress related to life transitions and other issues. Assessment, triage and referral to more specialized treatment options for patients presenting with severe symptoms, or those managing substance abuse, eating disorders, psychosis or serious mental illness.
· Perform administrative duties to ensure regulatory compliance and operational efficiency including:
o Accurate and timely documentation within 24-48 hours
o Appropriate diagnosis and coding in EHR
o Regular collaborative practice and team planning meetings
o Collaboration with community providers as indicated by treatment planning needs
o Supporting patient leave requests with clinical documentation
Requirements:Education: PsyD or PhD, or LCSW with active CA license
Experience:
- More than 5 years of experience working with perinatal patients with training specific to the perinatal period. PMH-C preferred.
- Experience with crisis work and high-acuity triage.
- Familiarity with CBT, ACT, evidence based trauma treatments (CPT/PE/ACT or others), motivational interviewing. Comfort with short term therapy and treatments that center behavior change.
- Firm knowledge of health psychology and experience treating or discussing sexual dysfunction, body image issues, insomnia, chronic pain and other behavioral health topics with patients
- High level of clinical and administrative skills.
- Must communicate effectively, professionally, patiently, and kindly with patients, physicians, and staff.
- Knowledge of basic medical terminology and office fundamentals are needed to complete tasks.
- Actively participates in collaborative practice and team planning meetings, coordinates with other medical staff to ensure integration of behavioral health services, and provides clinical and workflow education on behavioral health to the Golden Gate OBGYN team.

Computer Skills: Intermediate to advanced computer skills: data entry, word processing, MS Office, Google Drive.
Language Skills: Must be able to speak and write English, Bi-lingual a plus
Time Management/ Organizational Skills: Must be highly organized and can effectively prioritize and manage time.
Problem Solving: Ability to resolve issues with a positive and decisive manner. Must be able to communicate effectively and work as a team player with other staff.
Physical Requirements:
Mobility: The ability to move freely within A clinic, including standing, walking, and occasionally assisting patients in positioning during examinations or procedures, sitting for extended periods during consultations, and flexibility to transition between sitting, standing, and occasional light lifting is necessary.
Manual Dexterity: Proficiency in equipment, and computers for patient documentation, EHR management, and performing minor medical procedures.
Visual and Auditory Acuity: Adequate vision and hearing are essential for conducting patient assessments, reading medical charts, and interpreting diagnostic information.
Communication: Frequent verbal communication with patients, families, and healthcare providers requires clear speech and active listening, sometimes in high-stress situations.
Stamina: The ability to maintain physical and mental stamina during long periods of direct patient care, administrative work, and team meetings.
