LOCATION: Based Remote with some travel as needed to Ann Arbor, MI

Position Description

The primary focus of the Epic Specialist is to maintain data integrity within PPMI electronic health records. This is accomplished through end user training and proficiency assessment, technical support, and various Quality Risk and Compliance (QRC) and Health Information Management (HIM) initiatives related to Epic electronic health records system.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities · Successfully obtain Epic Credentialed Trainer status in the area of Clinical Support, Patient Access and any other identified area required to train PPMI Patient Care staff.· Serve as a champion for PPMI’s utilization of Epic EHR.· Oversee creation and maintenance of virtual training materials and provide support to onsite trainers as needed. · During ongoing training and system changes, promote a smooth transition and continued productivity, patient donations, outreach and other identified business goals.· Utilize knowledge of current patient care policies and procedures to connect learning to patient care environment and workflows. · Measure new hire and established staff proficiency through observation, chart review and other quality and compliance assessment methods. · Maintain PPMI ticketing system and provide consistent in the moment support for PPMI end users within area of expertise. · Monitor, maintain, and work the PPMI internal ticketing queue. Ensure solutions are communicated to end users and stakeholders. Work with the Electronic Health Record Manager to escalate tickets to Better Health when appropriate.· Participate in the assessment, design, delivery and evaluation of a comprehensive Epic training program in conjunction with PPMI Learning and Development department. · Coordinate Epic training program components with corresponding Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and stakeholders. · Contribute to PPMI Health Information Management (HIM) initiatives that improve patient and end user experience, ensure quality outcomes and reduce risk to PPMI. · Work collaboratively with SME’s & Electronic Health Record Manager to ensure documentation in Epic is within PPMI & PPFA compliance as well as Medical Standards & Guidelines, industry coding standards, and other guidelines.· Demonstrate commitment to living out and modeling PPMI’s In This Together Workplace Values and Service Standards.· Integrate equity and inclusion best practices into all job functions and patient interactions. · Perform all duties in compliance with all applicable laws, PPMI policies and insurance guidelines.· Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesKnowledge of: · Fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of medical terminology and medical record documentation.· Fundamental concepts, practices and procedures related to CPT and ICD coding. · Fundamental concepts, practices and procedures used in a medical office environment.· Fundamental concepts, practices and procedures used in EHR training delivery. Skill in:· Operating standard office equipment and using required software applications including Microsoft Office. · Utilizing medical records management systems for patient care documentation. · Providing effective virtual classroom training to adults in the work environment. Ability to:· Adapt quickly to new software.· Utilize virtual meeting platforms to facilitate computer based training. · Gather information, identify linkages and trends, and apply findings to prepare training content. · Comprehend trainee level of understanding of information being provided and make appropriate adjustments to method of delivery if needed.· Work under pressure on multiple projects concurrently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced work environment with frequent interruptions and changing priorities.· Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. · Provide a high level of internal customer service and handle stressful situations in a calm and professional manner. · Establish and maintain effective working relationships at all levels of the organization. · Read comprehend and follow instructions, short correspondence and memos. · Add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Qualifications and Experience

Required - at least two of the following:

Previous PPMI experience in the patient care setting
Epic systems training, Health Information Management or other equivalent experience

Experience facilitating formal training
