This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced backend engineer to help scale the infrastructure powering a high-volume cloud platform that processes millions of telemetry events every second. You will join a platform engineering team focused on building reliable, high-performance systems that enable engineering teams to develop, deploy, and operate services at scale. Working across infrastructure, distributed systems, and cloud-native technologies, you'll lead complex technical initiatives that improve scalability, reliability, and operational efficiency. This role combines hands-on engineering with technical leadership, giving you the opportunity to influence architecture, mentor peers, and drive platform evolution. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams in a remote-first environment that values autonomy, transparency, and continuous learning. If you're passionate about distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, and solving large-scale engineering challenges, this role offers significant technical impact and growth.

Accountabilities:
  • Design, build, and enhance scalable platform infrastructure that supports highly available, cloud-native applications.
  • Lead the architecture and delivery of large-scale distributed systems with a strong focus on reliability, performance, and operational excellence.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to accelerate platform maturity, improve deployment processes, and reduce infrastructure provisioning timelines.
  • Define and implement best practices for system design, scalability, monitoring, capacity planning, and incident response.
  • Develop production-ready software while contributing to architecture reviews, technical design documentation, testing, and code quality initiatives.
  • Participate in on-call rotations to maintain platform reliability and continuously improve operational processes.
  • Drive cross-functional technical initiatives by influencing stakeholders, aligning priorities, and delivering scalable engineering solutions.
  • Promote engineering productivity by leveraging modern development practices, automation, and AI-assisted software development tools.
Requirements:
  • Extensive experience designing, building, and operating large-scale distributed systems in production environments.
  • Strong expertise in system architecture, including scalability, latency, availability, consistency, and cost optimization.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud-native technologies, Kubernetes, containers, infrastructure as code, and modern platform engineering practices.
  • Proven ability to define and manage SLOs, SLIs, capacity planning, performance optimization, and reliability engineering initiatives.
  • Excellent programming skills with experience in Go or comparable languages such as Python, Rust, C, or C++.
  • Experience building and operating cloud infrastructure using platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines, automation, and infrastructure management tools.
  • Comfortable working with AI-powered developer tools to improve software development workflows and engineering productivity.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and technical leadership skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams in a remote environment.
  • Experience with open-source technologies, Kubernetes scheduling, Terraform, Crossplane, Jsonnet, or similar platform engineering tools is considered a strong advantage.
Benefits:
  • Competitive base salary ranging from USD $174,986 to $209,983, depending on experience, skills, and location.
  • Restricted Stock Units (RSUs) providing equity ownership in the company's long-term success.
  • Eligibility for performance-based bonus opportunities where applicable.
  • Fully remote work environment with a globally distributed team.
  • Comprehensive healthcare and employee benefits package.
  • Approximately 30 days of annual leave, including dedicated company-wide shutdown days (subject to local regulations).
  • Career development opportunities within a fast-growing global engineering organization.
  • Collaborative, transparent culture that emphasizes autonomy, innovation, and continuous learning.
  • Company-funded access to AI-powered developer tools and modern engineering technologies.
  • In-person onboarding experience designed to help new team members build strong connections and succeed from day one.
