Beacon Kalamazoo provides 24/7 emergency care and a Level II Trauma Center. WhatYou’llDo
As anUltrasoundTechnician,you’llreport to the Supervisor/Manager.You will perform diagnostic medical sonography including abdomen, OB/GYN, small parts, as well as vascular sonography.The Ultrasound Tech follows protocols, policies, and procedures as directed by the radiologist and/or supervising technologist.You will ensure quality patient care is provided.
UltrasoundTechnicianJob Responsibilities

Performs all ultrasound examinations according to department protocols, policies and procedures while ensuringappropriateand quality care.

Obtainspertinent clinical history for the reading radiologist, communicating with referring physicians and other healthcare personnel and providing phone reports, whenindicated.

Explainsandincludesthe patient in their procedure.

Preparesimages on PACS.

Accurately completesassociated worksheets or reportingtemplatefor the reading radiologist.

Appliestheappropriate charges.

Contributesto the overall effectiveness of the department:

Maintains ARDMS/ARRT(S) certification

Orientsnew staffand students to work areas upon request.

Accurately badges daily clocking-ins, YTO/PTO,holidaysandcall(ortimelycompletion of add-clocking in Active Staffer, withmaximumof 10 per year).

Cleans andmaintainsequipment, reporting any equipment malfunctions to the Supervisor/Manager.

Completes other job-related duties andprojects asassigned.
What You Bring
You bringaFamiliarity with Ultrasound equipmentandwith human anatomy and cross-section required.You have limited clinical skills and sterile techniques.ARDMS or ARRT (S) registryisrequired- requires continuing education credits.
Required Qualifications

Successful completion of ARDMS or ARRT (S). ARDMS or ARRT (S) isrequiredtomaintainposition.

Abdomen, OB/GYNand RVT certifications are preferred.

Sixmonthsultrasound experience is preferred.
