Job Description
Summary/Objective: Install, configure, and support an organization's local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), and Internet systems or a segment of a network system. Monitor network to ensure network availability to all system users and may perform necessary maintenance to support network availability. May assist in network modeling, analysis, planning, and coordination between network and data communications hardware and software. May administer network security measures. Successful applicant is responsible for assisting in the maintenance, configuration, troubleshooting, inventory, and operation of the informational technology as directed.
Essential Functions: Specific duties include, but are not limited, to the following:
•Supports IT needs of BDC businesses, works cooperatively with LDF Tribe and other existing and future IT infrastructure personnel and systems.
•Support and maintain databases and information systems for the Business Development Corporation.
•Support Voice over IP (VOIP) telephone system.
•Assist with research and purchase of equipment and software for department.
•Communicate with other departments to report and resolve software, hardware, and operations problems.
•Develop training materials and procedures, or train users in the proper use of hardware or software.
•Works toward achieving I.T. systems security certifications, where applicable.
•All other duties as assigned.
Skills:
•Strong attention to detail.
•Must be able to operate calmly while in a fast-paced environment.
•Must be able to work in a team atmosphere which allows a high level of customer service to be delivered.
•Superior written and oral communication skills.
•Effective time management and organizational skills.
•Ability to solve problems independently.
•Ability to script/program in PowerShell or PHP
•Possess strong computer skills with proficiency in switching, routing, VLANs.
•Security/Surveillance Software: Demonstrate a proficiency in the creation, monitoring, analyzing, backing up of data, and troubleshooting any virtual servers or computers
•Servers: Have the ability to maintain, troubleshoot, backup, and configure various servers including but not limited to:
-Virtual Windows servers and Linux Servers
-Domain Controller(s) (active directory)
-Applications such as SQL Server, SQL Report Server, Web Based SAS
•Cabling: Demonstrate proper skills in:
-Testing cables to ensure a signal is properly transmitting
-Pulling cables throughout the office
•Desktops: Demonstrate the ability to identify, maintain, troubleshoot, resolve, and document issues that may arise. This includes but is not limited to: Display devices, Keyboards, Mice, USB attached devices (flash drives, fingerprint scanners, card scanners, barcode scanners, etc.), CD/DVD drives, USB connected printers, etc.
•User Education: Demonstrate an ability to instruct a first-time user on how to increase efficiency by showing them keyboard shortcuts to eliminate unnecessary steps in their day-to-day activities. Create easy to follow, step by step instructions for setting up a projector and various models of laptops, how to set up a VPN connection, how to create a professional looking e-mail signature, etc.
Supervisory Responsibility: This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment: This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, printers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets.
Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. Due to the nature of the work, exposure to electrical systems will occur. Standing, sitting, walking, bending, and being able to lift 50 pounds safely is required. And the ability to work on a ladder at a height of 10 feet is required.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are primarily Monday through Friday, 8:00a to 4:30p. However, evening and weekend hours are required as job duties demand.
Travel: Little to no travel is expected for this position.
Required Education and Experience:
Must have prior experience with configuring, troubleshooting computer hardware and software, including:
a. Windows 10,11 Windows Server 2016, 2019, 2022
b. Microsoft Office365
c. Corporate Antivirus
d. Corporate switching and networking
e. Virtualization, SAN/NAS, and network backups
Preferred Education and Experience: 5 to 7 years’ experience working in an Information Technology-related environment preferred.
