Job Description
GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
The Biology Department at Framingham State University seeks a part-time instructor to teach two weekday afternoon laboratory sections of Vascular Plant Taxonomy during the Fall 2026 semester. The lab instructor will work with the instructor of the associated lecture to plan and implement weekly field and lab-based activities for up to 16 students in each section.

Job Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Masters Degree or Ph.D. in Biology, Botany, or related field. Ability to lead students in outdoor settings. Experience with or a demonstrated willingness to participate in teaching that promotes the growth of an equitable and inclusive academic environment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Familiarity with plant species commonly found in Massachusetts.
Additional Information:
This is a part-time, non-benefited faculty position in the Biology Department. The current salary rate for a 3-contact hour lab course taught by a new part-time faculty member in the day program is $5,423.34. Payments are made bi-weekly through payroll direct deposit. Rates may vary for other course types based on contact hour equivalencies.
