This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced QA Automation Engineer to play a key role in delivering high-quality software within a fast-paced, remote-first engineering environment. You'll work across the full software development lifecycle, designing and maintaining scalable automated testing solutions that improve product reliability and accelerate releases. The role combines modern test automation practices with AI-assisted engineering workflows, offering the chance to leverage cutting-edge tools while applying critical thinking and technical expertise. Working alongside developers, product teams, and QA leaders, you'll help establish quality standards, expand automation coverage, and ensure robust testing across UI, API, and integration layers. If you enjoy solving complex testing challenges and continuously improving engineering processes, this role offers significant impact and professional growth.
- Contribute to quality assurance activities throughout the planning, development, testing, and release phases of the software development lifecycle.
- Design, develop, validate, and maintain automated test assets using AI-assisted engineering tools while ensuring accuracy, reliability, and security.
- Review AI-generated test code and identify coverage gaps, incorrect assertions, false positives, and other potential issues before integration.
- Evaluate when AI-assisted testing is appropriate versus manual validation to ensure the highest level of software quality.
- Build and maintain automated end-to-end, UI, API, and integration test suites using modern testing frameworks.
- Expand regression automation coverage and improve overall testing efficiency across multiple product areas.
- Collaborate closely with software engineers, product managers, and QA stakeholders to define quality standards, communicate testing strategies, and proactively identify risks.
- Adapt testing approaches and automation frameworks to support evolving products, technologies, and development priorities.
- 3+ years of professional experience in QA Automation or Software Development in Test (SDET) roles.
- Strong expertise with Playwright and solid programming skills in JavaScript, TypeScript, and Node.js.
- At least 3 years of experience testing REST APIs using a BDD approach with Cucumber, alongside Python or Java.
- Hands-on experience with Postman for API testing, debugging, and exploratory testing.
- Practical experience using AI-powered coding assistants such as Claude, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or similar tools within software engineering workflows.
- Good understanding of CI/CD principles and experience integrating automated test suites into deployment pipelines.
- Demonstrated success improving software quality through measurable outcomes such as increased automation coverage, reduced defects, or improved testing efficiency.
- Excellent English communication skills, both written and spoken.
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and sound judgment when evaluating AI-generated output.
- Ability to manage priorities independently, communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, and thrive in a dynamic remote environment.
- Experience with AI-assisted QA tooling, LLM-based testing solutions, Model Context Protocol (MCP), or Agile/Scrum methodologies would be considered an advantage.
- Competitive market-based compensation.
- Fully remote position with the flexibility to work from Germany.
- B2B contractor engagement.
- Wellness initiatives that support employee wellbeing.
- Employee recognition and appreciation programs.
- Ongoing professional development and learning opportunities.
- Inclusive, collaborative, and innovation-driven work environment.
- Opportunity to work with modern AI-assisted engineering practices and advanced testing technologies.
- Fast-paced international team with strong opportunities for technical growth.
