What You'll Do
Manufacturing Process Development (30%)
Determine manufacturing methods, operation sequences, tooling, fixturing, and raw material requirements
Develop and maintain manufacturing routings and process instructions
Create manufacturing and inspection plans for precision-machined aerospace components
Support quotation development and manufacturing cost estimates
Define outside processing requirements and coordinate with approved local vendors
Develop fixtures and manufacturing processes for new and existing products
Production & Shop Floor Support (30%)
Provide hands-on engineering support to production operations
Troubleshoot machining, quality, and process-related issues
Work directly with machinists, supervisors, and quality personnel
Support development projects and transition them into full production
Improve process capability, efficiency, and manufacturing consistency
Continuous Improvement (20%)
Drive Lean Manufacturing initiatives
Reduce scrap, rework, and downtime
Improve throughput and cycle times
Analyze production data and implement measurable improvements
Root Cause Analysis & Corrective Actions (15%)
Lead investigations into defects and process failures
Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
Implement corrective and preventive actions
Analyze production metrics and trends to improve performance
Documentation & Compliance (5%)
Create setup sheets, operation sheets, process plans, and manufacturing documentation
Maintain accurate routing data within company systems
Support quality requirements and manufacturing compliance initiatives
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related discipline
OR
Equivalent education and 5–10 years of manufacturing engineering experience
Experience Required
5+ years of Manufacturing Engineering or Process Engineering experience
Experience supporting CNC machining and precision manufacturing environments
Broad knowledge of machine tools and machining capabilities
Strong understanding of GD&T and technical drawings
Experience developing manufacturing processes and routings
Experience conducting Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Preferred Qualifications
Aerospace manufacturing experience
CNC programming experience using Mastercam and/or Siemens NX (Unigraphics)
Experience with CNC Milling and Vertical Turning Lathes (VTL)
Fixture design and tooling development experience
Experience using NX CAD software
PPAP experience
First article and production launch experience
Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement experience
