Position Summary:

The Senior Project Analyst position is responsible for analyzing and identifying trends across the Service Division, providing actionable recommendations to improve efficiency, service quality, and member satisfaction, and supporting on project development and implementations. This role serves as a liaison between operations, leadership, training, workforce management, and technology teams to support continuous improvement initiatives.

Under the direction of the Deputy Administrator, the Senior Project Analyst partners closely across all departments in the Service Division: Pension, Claims and Member Services.

The Senior Project Analyst will be responsible for the following:

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Reporting, Monitoring, & Analytics

  • Assist in the overseeing and strategic planning of major initiatives and vendor implementations with the Deputy Administrator.
  • Mentor analysts within the Service Division and collaborate with analysts across the organization.
  • Support analytical functions as required including the production and analysis of reports and forecasting needs.
  • Participate in the review and development of vendor and system optimization strategies, benefit designs, and cost management initiatives.
  • Assist and provide recommendations in the documentation of new and current policies, procedures, and processes.
  • Act as project manager and work on the specified committees for operational processes (including subrogation, auto-adjudication) and new initiatives.
  • Communicate professionally to develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal leadership and staff and external stakeholders and partners as directed, including but not limited to peers, staff, plan participants, medical providers, vendors, trustees, government agencies, unions, employers, attorneys, and consultants.
  • Ensure proper and timely dissemination of all process, procedural and business updates to the team and interdepartmentally based on organizational requirements.
  • Maintain knowledge of State and Federal regulations, implementing best practices and changes regarding pension, claims, and billing requirements to achieve continuous improvement and productivity standards.
  • Perform other similar related duties, special projects, and multiple tasks as required including compliance reporting as needed.
  • Identify operational inefficiencies and recommend solutions.
  • Partner with leadership to implement process improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with governing bodies and regulations such as DOL, ERISA, HIPAA, PPACA, CAA and all company policies.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for various contact center and benefits administration systems.
  • Attend and participate in organizational meetings, including All Staff meetings, department meetings, benefit improvement process meetings, training sessions, task force or committee meetings, and other meetings as deemed appropriate to share, discuss, and solution for question or error trends, as well as identify potential process improvements.
Requirements:

Desired Qualifications, Experience, and Characteristics:

  • Minimum of 8 years of Taft-Hartley benefit administrative experience (preferably in claims processing), third party administrator (TPA), non-profit, labor unions, movement building, and mission-driven organizations preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Analytics, Healthcare Administration, Information Systems, or related field preferred.
  • Experience working with contact center technologies preferred.
  • Experience creating and analyzing reports and performance metrics required.
  • Ability to accurately translate technical tasks and requirements to be easily digestible for system end users.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and non-verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with peers, team leads, leadership, as well as internal and external stakeholders.
  • Must have strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities with attention to detail, productivity, and quality.

Technical Experience

  • Intermediate to advanced user of benefits administration software, Basys/Bridgeway preferred.
  • Intermediate to advanced skill level using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, and Power Point) including the use of Excel pivot tables and formulas.
  • Experience with reporting and dashboard tools (Smartsheet or other project management tools).
  • Experience working in a hybrid work environment, using a variety of virtual conference platforms to support and demonstrate collaboration and high productivity levels.
  • Technical facilitation and meeting moderation in a variety of virtual conference platform settings and in-person.
  • Written and verbal fluency in Spanish and/or Polish is a plus.

This position requires the handling of Personal Identifiable Information (PII) and potentially Protected Health Information (PHI) for our members. You will be responsible and accountable for maintaining the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of all PII and PHI. Report any suspected identity or HIPAA violation or breach to our HIPAA Privacy and Security Officer.
