Field Inspector

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Field Inspector based in Canada.

This flexible, field-based opportunity is suited to someone who enjoys working independently and spending time outdoors.
You will travel to assigned locations to conduct audits, inspections, and inventory-related data collection.
The role involves capturing photos, gathering accurate information, and submitting inspection reports using a mobile device.
You will have the freedom to manage your availability and choose assignments that fit your schedule.
Success in this position depends on reliability, attention to detail, organization, and adaptability in changing field conditions.
As an independent contractor, you can build experience while earning based on the inspections you complete.
The position is part-time and designed for Canadian applicants seeking flexible, location-based work.

Accountabilities
  • Conduct field audits, floorplan inspections, inventory checks, and data-collection assignments at designated locations.

  • Travel independently between assigned inspection sites and complete visits within required timelines.

  • Capture clear photographs and collect accurate asset, inventory, and location information during each inspection.

  • Use an Android or iOS smartphone or tablet to record and upload inspection data from the field.

  • Review collected information for completeness and accuracy before submitting assignments.

  • Communicate professionally with relevant contacts at inspection locations when required.

  • Accept and schedule assignments through the designated online system using a computer and reliable internet connection.

  • Maintain consistent availability during daytime hours and manage assignments independently.

  • Adapt to different locations, site conditions, weather, and inspection requirements while maintaining quality standards.

  • Complete assignments safely, accurately, and in accordance with applicable inspection procedures.

Requirements
  • Previous inspection, auditing, inventory, field service, data collection, merchandising, or similar experience is helpful but not mandatory.

  • Ability to work as an independent contractor and manage assignments with a high degree of autonomy.

  • Availability during daytime hours from Monday to Friday, with flexibility to accept assignments based on personal availability.

  • Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle for travel between inspection locations.

  • Comfortable working outdoors and in varying weather conditions.

  • Access to a recent smartphone or tablet capable of supporting field inspection activities.

  • Access to a computer with reliable Wi-Fi for accepting and scheduling assignments.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Proficiency with common technology platforms and operating systems, including iOS, Google Chrome, and Microsoft tools.

  • Strong attention to detail, organization, self-motivation, and reliability.

  • Ability to troubleshoot issues, adapt to changing circumstances, and work effectively without direct supervision.

  • Physical ability to stand and walk for up to 7.5 hours continuously when assignments require it.

  • Must be located in Canada and legally able to perform the contracted work.
