About the role

Heads Up Technologies is seeking a customer focused Field Systems Engineer to design, configure, integrate, test, and support advanced aircraft cabin systems. This role partners closely with customers and internal teams to translate technical requirements into reliable system solutions, support aircraft installations and commissioning, and troubleshoot fielded systems. The position combines hands on systems engineering with significant customer engagement and travel.

What you'll do

System Design

· Develop tail specific technical documentation, including configuration documents, interface documents, and app GUI definition documents.

· Collaborate with internal teams and provide guidance based on customer requirements for new and updated products.

· Set up and test proof of concept ideas for new products and system applications.

· Create system configuration files based on customer wiring and block diagrams.

· Create trade show and customer demonstration setups.

· Configure cabin control app interfaces using existing frameworks for specific aircraft installations.

Customer Engagement

· Communicate with customers to understand their technical requirements and business challenges.

· Assist customers in designing and implementing customized solutions that meet their specific needs.

· Share customer insights with internal teams to improve product design and the end user experience.

· Network and build relationships with target customers and related industry professionals.

· Stay current with industry trends, partners, and competitors.

System Integration and Testing

· Develop test cases and procedures that provide system level coverage for all product development specifications.

· Establish new methods to improve, expand, and streamline system testing for company products.

· Set up bench or system integration lab systems needed to recreate customer issues using specific configurations.

· Create and revise systems and qualification documentation for all products.

· Test cabin control apps using existing frameworks for specific aircraft installations.

Technical Support and Troubleshooting

· Provide timely and efficient technical support and troubleshooting for customers by email, phone, and TeamViewer.

· Perform software updates and diagnostic analysis on fielded systems.

· Resolve customer issues quickly and escalate complex problems to senior engineers or developers as necessary.

· Participate in the support on call rotation for nights and weekends.

· Provide onsite customer support for cabin system commissioning, including CMS configuration, audio system tuning, aircraft checkout, and troubleshooting.

Required Qualifications

· Bachelor's degree in a related engineering discipline or prior avionics technician experience.

· At least two years of systems engineering experience in an aerospace related field, or at least five years of experience as an avionics technician, with a strong focus on customer engagement.

· Ability to travel up to 50 percent of the time to customer sites and industry events within and outside the United States.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey technical concepts to both technical and nontechnical stakeholders.

· Experience with audio and video systems, aircraft electronics, and aircraft wiring diagrams.

· Familiarity with XML, databases, networking, and error log analysis.

· U.S. citizenship is required.

This position requires participation in an on call support rotation for nights and weekends and travel up to 50 percent of the time, including travel outside the United States.No recruiting agencies, please.
