This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Manager, Sales Compensation & Territory Planning based in the United States.

This role combines strategic planning, financial analysis, and operational execution to shape how a sales organization is compensated and structured.
You will help translate growth objectives and market opportunities into equitable territories, achievable quotas, and effective incentive plans.
Working across Sales, Finance, HR, Legal, Commercial Operations, and senior leadership, you will influence decisions with significant business impact.
You will own key elements of the annual sales-planning cycle while ensuring compensation, quota, territory, and employee data remain accurate and aligned.
The position offers the opportunity to improve complex processes through better systems, automation, governance, and analytics.
You will operate in a collaborative, cross-functional environment where strong judgment, precision, and clear communication are essential.
Your work will directly support sustainable growth, sales productivity, and a consistent experience for commercial teams.

Accountabilities:
  • Support the annual design, modeling, approval, implementation, documentation, and communication of sales compensation plans, ensuring incentive structures align with business objectives, sales targets, budgets, and selling roles.
  • Oversee commission administration, including validating bookings, attainment, incentives, adjustments, and payouts, while resolving disputes, exceptions, crediting questions, and territory conflicts.
  • Monitor compensation performance, payout trends, plan costs, budget exposure, and effectiveness, using insights to recommend improvements to leadership.
  • Support territory design and account assignment by analyzing market opportunity, whitespace, capacity, performance, organizational changes, and strategic priorities.
  • Coordinate territory reviews, realignments, account governance, coverage changes, overlays, referrals, shared-selling arrangements, and account hierarchies.
  • Manage quota-setting processes, including methodology, pool development, allocation, assignment, review, and ongoing maintenance, while evaluating fairness, attainability, productivity, phasing, and financial impact.
  • Translate booking targets, financial plans, territory opportunities, organizational design, and sales capacity into accurate individual and team quotas.
  • Own business requirements and coordinate processes across Salesforce, commission platforms, Workday, and reporting tools, including configuration, testing, implementation, reconciliation, and administration.
  • Maintain high-quality data and recurring controls across territories, quotas, compensation plans, pipeline, bookings, account structures, and employee records.
  • Improve operational scalability through automation, standardized workflows, documentation, controls, and clearly defined processes.
  • Coordinate cross-functional planning across Sales, Commercial Operations, Finance, HR, Total Rewards, Legal, Accounting, Procurement, Salesforce, and service-line leadership.
  • Facilitate planning and readiness meetings, track decisions and dependencies, communicate complex plan mechanics clearly, and develop training and guidance for managers and employees.
  • Identify downstream risks, escalate issues appropriately, and manage relationships with external incentive-compensation partners.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Human Resources, Analytics, Sales Operations, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience in sales compensation, revenue operations, sales operations, territory planning, quota setting, financial planning, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience designing, modeling, administering, or governing variable compensation programs.
  • Hands-on experience with territory design, account assignment, quota allocation, or sales-capacity planning.
  • Strong financial and analytical capabilities, including scenario modeling, data reconciliation, and analysis of compensation costs and payout implications.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience working with large, complex datasets.
  • Working knowledge of Salesforce or another enterprise CRM platform, with the ability to work across business systems and data sources.
  • Experience collaborating with Sales, Finance, Human Resources, Total Rewards, Legal, and senior leadership on sensitive and business-critical initiatives.
  • Strong project-management skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple interdependent workstreams against recurring annual deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly the ability to explain complex compensation, quota, and territory concepts in a clear and concise way.
  • High attention to detail, discretion, sound judgment, and accountability when working with confidential compensation and employee information.
  • A collaborative, analytical, and proactive approach, with the ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on operational execution.
Benefits:
  • Base salary range of $65,000–$116,747.20 USD per year, depending on location, experience, skills, education, and other job-related factors.
  • Eligibility to participate in an annual bonus plan with a 10% target.
  • Competitive benefits package designed to support health, well-being, and financial security.
  • Opportunities for continuous learning, cross-functional collaboration, and professional growth.
  • An environment where employees are encouraged to contribute ideas, think boldly, and take ownership of meaningful work.
  • Opportunities to contribute to work that supports healthcare organizations, patient care, and communities.
  • Commitment to an inclusive workplace and equal employment opportunity.
  • Reasonable accommodations available for candidates with disabilities throughout the application process.
  • Remote position based in the United States.
