Job Description:

Position Summary

The VDI/Citrix Engineer designs, deploys, integrates, and maintains virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) solutions across both on‑premises and cloud environments. This role supports high‑speed VDI platforms-including Citrix, Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD), and AWS Workspaces-and contributes to mission‑critical customer programs requiring secure, scalable, and high‑performance virtual environments.

Core Responsibilities

Design & Architecture

• Define system architecture for new and existing VDI environments.
• Develop enterprise‑level and solution‑level designs for on‑premises and cloud VDI systems.

VDI Platform Engineering

• Deploy and enhance cloud‑based VDI solutions across AWS, Azure, and other providers.
• Integrate Citrix, AVD, and AWS Workspaces with existing infrastructure.
• Build and manage gold images, application packaging, and software offerings.

Systems Engineering & Administration

• Install, configure, test, and maintain operating systems, management tools, and system software.
• Administer Windows Server, Linux/Unix, Identity & Access Management (IAM) solutions, and large‑scale integrations.
• Maintain environments at required security posture; apply updates and remediations.

Cloud Engineering

• Build, migrate, and test AWS and Azure environments and integrations.
• Use infrastructure‑as‑code tools such as CloudFormation, Terraform, and Ansible.
• Automate operations and expand cloud hosting capabilities.

Operational Support

• Monitor and maintain infrastructure to meet client requirements.
• Provide documentation, technical briefings, and support program status reviews.
• Collaborate with remote teams and provide occasional after‑hours on‑call support.

Additional Duties

• Coordinate with technical teams responsible for cloud hosting infrastructures.
• Deploy large‑scale environments via infrastructure‑as‑code.
• Rapidly prototype to refine system requirements and technical specifications.
• Maintain environment configuration in line with industry standards and best practices.
• Remediate application/package installations.
• Develop templates or scripts to automate developer and operations functions.
• Identify new tools and processes to improve cloud platforms.
• Prepare technical documentation and briefing materials for reviews and control gates.

Required Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Cybersecurity, or related field.
• Experience: 10+ years.
• Minimum of 4-5 years in VDI engineering or systems engineering.
• Clearance: Active Secret with the ability to obtain and maintain Top Secret.
• Certifications: DoD 8570.01‑M IAT Level II (Security+).
• Technical Skills: Citrix, AVD, AWS Workspaces; Windows/Linux administration; AWS CloudFormation; Terraform; Ansible; Identity & Access Management; Profile Management; large‑scale system integration.

Desired Skills

• Citrix certifications (e.g., CCAV, CCP‑V).
• Azure Virtual Desktop; ARM/BICEP templates and automation.
• Experience with JIRA, Confluence, and project lifecycle workflows.

• Location: Remote with 25% travel. Miami is the preferred location, and the travel will be less for a candidate located there.

The likely salary range for this position is $149,469 - $195,500. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
