SALARY: $65,000-$70,000 per year, paid bi-weekly
Program Description
Depaul USA operates the Little Rock Micro Home Village, a project that is providing safe, dignified, temporary housing for individuals and families experiencing homelessness. The Village provides residents with access to micro homes, emergency shelter, case management, supportive services, and connections to community resources to help them achieve greater stability and transition toward permanent housing.
Position Description
The Associate Director provides operational leadership for the Depaul USA Little Rock Micro Home Village and Community Center. The Associate Director is responsible for day-to-day program operations, resident and shelter services, staff leadership, safety, financial management, compliance, and service quality. Working collaboratively with Depaul USA leadership, staff, and community partners, the Associate Director ensures the delivery of high-quality, mission-driven services that support housing stability and transition to permanent housing.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Functions
• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Micro Home Village and Community Center, including resident occupancy, housing-related needs, emergency shelter operations, staffing, safety, facility needs, community standards, and coordination of services to support housing stability and transition to permanent housing.
• Oversee client service coordination, including required documentation, weekly progress reviews, and coordination with other service providers and involved supports.
• Ensure staff are trained on and follow current safety protocols, including incident reporting, emergency procedures, and de-escalation techniques; regularly review and update protocols as needed.
• Ensure appropriate staffing coverage during shelter hours and support staff in managing emergencies or incidents during overnight operations, as needed.
• Supervise, mentor, and evaluate all program staff, including Shelter staff, while promoting accountability, professional growth, and high-quality service delivery consistent with Depaul USA's mission and values, in partnership with the Human Resources Department.
• Oversee compliance with all federal, state, local, and private funding requirements, ensuring timely completion of required reports, grant renewals, technical submissions, and other required filings.
• Ensure accurate collection, analysis, and reporting of program data, outcomes, and performance measures to support compliance, evaluation, and continuous improvement.
• Manage annual operating budgets, monitor financial performance, and collaborate with Finance, Development, and other organizational departments to ensure sound fiscal management, grant compliance, grant renewals, and ongoing financial stability.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with local government officials, funders, community organizations, and other stakeholders to strengthen services for people experiencing homelessness and housing instability.
• Collaborate with the Development Department to support fundraising strategies, donor cultivation, campaigns, special events, and community engagement activities.
Additional Tasks and Responsibilities
• Provide leadership during crises and ensure appropriate interventions and continuity of services in accordance with organizational policies and procedures.
• Provide a means of communication that clients and staff may use 24/7 for emergencies.
• Work closely with the Administrative Assistant/Volunteer Coordinator, Case Managers, Residential Aides, Peer Support Specialists, cooks, security and maintenance staff to ensure participant needs are met.
• Ensure appropriate maintenance of financial, operational, programmatic, and statistical records necessary for the effective operation of the Micro Home Village.
• Enter and update client data in HMIS and the New Org database weekly, with annual updates as required. Use data to assess program effectiveness and contribute to evaluation reports.
• Develop programming as needed to better meet the ever-changing needs of the clients.
• Conduct tours and presentations for community partners, donors, volunteers, and visitors.
• Attend community meetings, network with other service providers, and advocate for people experiencing homelessness within the local region.
• Recruit, orient, and supervise Depaul USA volunteers and practicum students to support the program's operations and enhance service delivery for clients.
General Responsibilities
• Stays informed of current local and national events, trends, and issues (wherever possible) that impact Depaul USA’s work with the homeless.
• Strives continuously to develop the role in collaboration with the supervisor to ensure that all tasks are undertaken effectively and appropriately, meeting the strategic goals and objectives of Depaul USA.
• Participates in internal/external meetings as required and attends training events, conferences, and other functions as necessary. Participates in regular supervision and annual appraisal and helps in identifying your job-related development and training needs.
• Ensures adherence to all Depaul USA policies and procedures, particularly those relating to Health and Safety, Safeguarding, Code of Practice, and Confidentiality.
• Contributes to the effective implementation of Depaul USA’s Equal Opportunities Policy as it affects both the organization and its work with this client group.
• Undertakes the role professionally, always maintaining a high-quality work standard and always working in accordance with the Vision, Mission, and Values of Depaul USA.

Qualifications
The ideal Associate Director is an experienced, mission-driven leader with a strong background in nonprofit or human services management. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong operational, leadership, financial, and relationship-building skills, along with a commitment to serving individuals and families experiencing homelessness and housing instability.
• Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Human Services, Business Administration, Public Administration, Nonprofit Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of five (5) years of progressive management experience, preferably in nonprofit, housing, or human services organizations.
• Demonstrated experience supervising staff, leading teams, and overseeing day-to-day program operations.
• Experience managing budgets, grants, contracts, and regulatory or funding compliance, preferably including HUD-funded programs.
• Experience working with individuals and families experiencing homelessness or housing instability.
• Proven ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships with government agencies, community partners, funders, service providers, and other stakeholders.
• Excellent leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to learn organizational software systems.

Work Schedule
• In-person, from the Micro Home Village, located at 3405 W. Roosevelt Rd. Little Rock, AR
• Monday-Friday, between 7:00am – 5:00pm CST, but schedule may need to be altered to be present and supervise all shifts.
• Participates in rotation with the leadership team for on-call coverage evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
