Accountabilities:
  • Serve as a trusted advisor and primary point of contact for key client stakeholders, providing strategic counsel and managing day-to-day account relationships.
  • Translate complex healthcare challenges and client priorities into integrated communications strategies across earned, owned, shared, and paid channels.
  • Lead client meetings and present strategic recommendations, campaign updates, performance insights, and growth opportunities to senior stakeholders.
  • Oversee account operations, including scopes, budgets, timelines, staffing, deliverables, and risk management.
  • Develop audience strategies, narrative frameworks, message platforms, communications plans, executive materials, and campaign assets.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams across communications, managed care, creative, media, digital, analytics, finance, and revenue cycle.
  • Delegate assignments, review deliverables, provide actionable feedback, and mentor junior team members.
  • Monitor healthcare trends, regulatory developments, media coverage, and managed care activity to develop timely client recommendations.
  • Establish campaign objectives and performance measures, using audience insights and data to evaluate results and optimize strategies.
  • Identify opportunities to expand client relationships and contribute to renewals, proposals, and new business initiatives.

Requirements:

  • 5–7 years of experience in healthcare communications, marketing, or strategy, preferably in an agency, consulting, or client-service environment.
  • Demonstrated experience leading integrated communications strategies across earned, owned, shared, and paid channels.
  • Proven ability to manage healthcare client relationships, advise senior stakeholders, and translate complex information into clear recommendations.
  • Strong writing, editing, presentation, facilitation, and client communication skills.
  • Experience developing communications plans, message platforms, executive materials, and client-facing presentations.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams, manage multiple priorities and scopes, and coach junior professionals.
  • Experience using campaign data, performance metrics, audience research, and market insights to evaluate results and inform strategy.
  • Intermediate Excel skills are preferred.
  • Knowledge of managed care, healthcare reimbursement, regulatory developments, and payer-provider relationships is preferred.
  • Experience with media monitoring or PR platforms such as Cision or Meltwater is a plus.
  • Authorization to work in the United States is required, with work visa requirements subject to the role’s hiring conditions.
  • Ability to work on a hybrid schedule near Chicago, Nashville, or New York may be required.

Benefits:

  • Health, dental, and vision benefit packages.
  • Company-paid life, short-term disability, and long-term disability insurance.
  • Flexible Spending Account (FSA) and Health Savings Account (HSA) options.
  • 401(k) with a generous company match.
  • Flexible paid time off.

  • Hybrid and remote work schedule options.
  • Employee Assistance Program with free telephonic counseling covering areas such as mental health, financial support, and legal advice.
