This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Director of Project Management based in the United States.

This leadership role oversees the Project Management function and provides strategic direction across complex, high-value projects. You will lead experienced Project Managers while strengthening delivery practices that improve profitability, efficiency, resource utilization, client satisfaction, and quality. The role combines people leadership, project governance, process optimization, commercial oversight, and cross-functional collaboration. You will work closely with Finance, Business Development, executive leadership, clients, and technical teams to align projects with broader organizational goals. A key focus will be developing scalable processes, automation, and operating practices that support continued growth. The position is particularly suited to an experienced project management leader with strong knowledge of renewable energy and utility-scale infrastructure.

• Lead and manage the Project Management Department, providing direction, coaching, and oversight to Project Managers responsible for major and high-value projects.
• Establish and continuously improve project management practices, processes, procedures, and guidelines in alignment with organizational strategy and growth objectives.
• Direct, monitor, and adjust project management activities to improve delivery efficiency, profitability, resource utilization, quality, and client satisfaction.
• Provide leadership in identifying and procuring products and resources required for successful project deliverables.
• Partner with Finance to develop and manage project budgets, milestones, financial controls, and compliance requirements.
• Provide oversight and leadership regarding contract changes, ensuring project requirements and commercial considerations are appropriately managed.
• Guide teams in defining project scope and requirements and developing effective solutions for clients.
• Partner with Business Development on proposal development, presentations, and project opportunities.
• Drive automation, process streamlining, and operational improvements across existing and new project management workflows.
• Provide strategic input and recommendations to executive leadership to support broader organizational growth and operational effectiveness.
• Lead technical and project-related discussions while ensuring complex information is communicated clearly to clients, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Engineering or a related technical discipline, combined with 15+ years of management and project management experience, or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
• Extensive knowledge of project management methodologies, practices, governance, and operational processes, with a demonstrated ability to lead experienced project professionals.
• PMP certification is highly preferred.
• Scrum Master or other Agile Project Management certification is preferred.
• Deep knowledge of utility-scale renewable energy interconnection, particularly renewable PV and battery energy storage systems (BESS), as well as construction, SCADA, and software implementation.
• Demonstrated ability to lead technical discussions and translate complex technical concepts into clear, accessible information for non-technical audiences.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with executives, clients, technical teams, and other stakeholders.
• Strong collaboration, facilitation, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills.
• High proficiency with Microsoft Project, Azure DevOps (ADO), or other project management and delivery tools.
• Strong strategic thinking, organizational, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, lead through organizational growth, and develop scalable processes and procedures.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer and able to reside in the United States. This position is not eligible for work visa sponsorship.
