Job Description
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
To ensure products and manufacturing processes meet customer, regulatory, industry and company standards by utilizing advanced statistical tools and problem-solving methodologies to establish, maintain and continuously improve product and process quality.
RESPONSIBILTIES:
- Work directly with customers, supplier quality and subcontractors to plan, develop and implement typical quality activities such as PPAP, Control Plans, etc.
- Make data driven decisions which promote corporate goals and core principals.
- Focus on timeliness of results.
- Write and implement quality system standards, procedures and work instructions.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and TS16949 standards.
- Partner with cross functional teams to promote a positive and productive quality culture.
- Lead and actively participate in cross-functional activities to drive continuous improvement.
- Build customer relationships based on trust and partnership.
- Communicate customer specific requirements to both internal and external supplier partners.
- Perform product, process, and systems audits.
- Plan and perform typical quality duties such as Cpk, SPC, 8D, and Corrective Action and Preventive Action activities.
- Analyze problems with products, processes or systems and develop and implement timely solutions.
- Containment and disposition of material or product that is suspect or nonconforming.
- Validate and approve product, process and quality system deviations as appropriate.
- Stop production or shipments to the customer if required.
- Train quality department and other personnel as required.
- Assure timely and successful completion of APQP and Launch activities.
- Maintain a positive working relationship with customers, subcontractors, and PSAM departments and groups.
- Monitor and report quality function performance as required.
- Perform other projects and duties assigned by the External Quality Manager.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Two (2) year degree or equivalent experience in manufacturing or quality engineering.
- Four (4) years’ experience in automotive industry’s quality functions (e.g. PPAP, FMEA, SPC and Control Plans).
- Exceptional communication skills, including verbal, written, conflict resolution and negotiation skills are required.
- A Working knowledge of blueprint reading, GD&T, and technical specifications interpretation is preferred.
- A working knowledge of measurement systems analysis and laboratory measurement equipment and hand tools is preferred.
- A working knowledge of calibration systems and testing laboratory procedures is preferred.
- Computer literacy with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office software and analytical tools.

- Manufacturing environment may incur extreme temperature variation
- Occasionally lift or move up to 35 pounds
- Standing up to 90% of the workday
- Ability to travel up to 20% (domestic and international)
- Ability to maintain a US driver’s license
- Ability to maintain a passport
