Who You Are
As a Performance Automation Engineer, you help ensure our applications are scalable, reliable, and responsive under a wide range of user and system demands. You work closely with development, QA, and DevOps teams to evaluate system behavior, identify performance risks, and drive measurable improvements. You bring a strong foundation in performance testing and engineering, and you use data, observability, and collaboration to improve readiness for production. In this role, your work directly supports resilient systems and better outcomes for internal teams and clients.
What You'll Do
Design, develop, and maintain performance test scripts using JMeter to validate application scalability, reliability, and responsiveness.
Execute load, stress, spike, and endurance tests to simulate real-world traffic patterns and assess production readiness.
Analyze application behavior under load and identify performance bottlenecks across CPU, memory, database, network, and related system components.
Partner with development, QA, and DevOps teams to troubleshoot issues, optimize application performance, and support performance tuning efforts.
Integrate performance tests into CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous validation and early detection of performance regressions.
Monitor application and infrastructure performance using tools such as Datadog and correlate metrics, logs, and traces to support root cause analysis.
Prepare detailed performance reports that summarize observations, trends, risks, and recommendations for stakeholders.
Support capacity planning activities by evaluating system limits, usage patterns, and projected performance needs.
What You'll Need
4 to 7 years of experience in performance testing and performance engineering.
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Information Technology, or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
Strong hands-on experience with JMeter for performance and load testing.
Solid understanding of performance testing concepts, including load, stress, spike, and endurance testing.
Experience analyzing test results and identifying performance bottlenecks.
Familiarity with web technologies, including HTTP/HTTPS and REST APIs.
Ability to correlate application performance with infrastructure metrics.
Hands-on experience with monitoring tools such as Datadog.
Ability to analyze logs, metrics, and traces for root cause analysis.
Understanding of Application Performance Monitoring concepts.
Basic knowledge of Linux/Unix systems.
Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins and Azure DevOps.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the ability to break down performance issues and use evidence to guide decisions.
Good communication and stakeholder management skills in a fast-paced, agile environment.
Demonstrate growth potential and learning agility by quickly building knowledge in new tools, systems, and performance engineering practices as needs evolve.
Demonstrate leadership by collaborating effectively with cross-functional partners, influencing performance-focused decisions, and working through differing perspectives constructively.
Demonstrate adaptability by adjusting priorities and approach in response to changing project needs, system conditions, and business timelines.
Demonstrate creative thinking by identifying practical, innovative ways to improve test coverage, performance visibility, and system efficiency.
Demonstrate analytical skills by interpreting test data, identifying patterns, and drawing sound conclusions to support performance improvements.
Nice to have: Experience with modern performance tools such as K6 or Gatling; knowledge of scripting languages such as JavaScript, Groovy, or similar; experience with distributed load testing; understanding of cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
