Responsibilities

First Equity Mortgage, a subsidiary of Drees Homes, is seeking candidates for a Accounting Specialist position in our Northern Kentucky office.

In this position, you will perform accounting tasks such as accounts payable, maintaining general ledger, reconciliations, loan sales and funding, customer payments and inquiries.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assist in preparation of accounts payable and executing weekly payment runs.
  • Maintain all vendor records in the accounting system for integrity and verification purposes
  • Prepare journal entries, collection of mortgage payments, account reconciliations and assisting with monthly closing processes
  • Support cash function including electronic transfers, electronic receipt of wires, daily deposits an other daily cash activity
  • Reconcile and record purchase advices from investors
  • Assist with annual audits
  • Assist accounting department with special projects and ad hoc reports

Requirements include:

  • 2-4 year degree in Accounting or Finance, in lieu of degree related work experience will be considered
  • 2+ years of accounting experience
  • Strong computer skills, proficient with Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience working in accounting software
  • Proficiency in accounts payable, reconciliation, vendor management, and journal entries.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong numeracy and analytical skills
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented
  • Utilize problem solving abilities and time management skills
  • Works well in a team environment
