- Has responsibility for the function and reports to the site/ SBU head (and/ or to a Home Office functional leader).
Essential Functions
- Manages the organization's security function and develops security programs, policies, and processes.
- Develops, designates, and implements safety and security protocols for assigned facilities. Managing the coordination and administration of security clearances.
- Oversee and ensures processes are in place for preventing losses and damage by reporting irregularities, informing violators of policy and procedures, and evicting trespassers.
- Serves as point of contact for escalated safety/security concerns and may respond to situations as needed.
- May coordinate with local law enforcement agencies when necessary.
- Strategically and proactively assesses risks to ensure a safe and secure working environment to staff and visitors.
- Leads the investigation of crimes with leadership support.
- Provides direction and guidance related to safety and crime prevention to employees and visitors.
- Advises on specialized security needs or risks for limited and restricted access areas.
- Required education and experience: Associate's Degree and 10-12 years' experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/or Experience
- Critical professional related technical skills; computer skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Preferred education and experience: Bachelor's Degree in security, National Security, Criminal Justice, or a related field
- Knowledge, skills & abilities: Emergency Management. Investigations. Physical Security. Security Management. Security Risk Management. Strategy Development. Law Enforcement Liaison. Resource Allocation. Conflict De-Escalation.
Security Clearance: Active US government issued SECRET level security clearance or the ability to obtain.
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.
- Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities.
- May need to stand for long periods of time.
- Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.
- This position is Safety-Sensitive.
