Healthcare Engineering Specialist in Selma, Texas at University Health System- San Antonio

We are seeking a Healthcare Engineering Specialist I to maintain, service, calibrate, troubleshoot, repair and test a broad range of general and specialized medical equipment throughout University Health. This is an excellent opportunity for a biomedical equipment professional who enjoys hands-on technical work and wants to contribute directly to the safety and reliability of patient care equipment.

What You’ll Do

In this role, you will:

• Maintain, service, calibrate, adjust, repair and test general and specialized medical equipment.
• Perform and document complex repairs and calibration services on a broad range of patient care and support equipment.
• Apply your knowledge of medical equipment management standards and regulations, including requirements related to The Joint Commission and other applicable regulatory agencies.
• Work closely with clinical and operational teams, including management, nurses, physicians, ancillary staff and outside vendors.
• Ensure work is completed in accordance with University Health, departmental and section policies and procedures.

What You’ll Need

• Associate degree in Biomedical Engineering Technology or a related field is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred.
• Two years of related experience in a full-service biomedical section, department or company is required.
• Four years of related experience is preferred.
• ICC Certification for Radiology Equipment (CRES) is preferred.
