Account Development Manager

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Account Development Manager based in United States.

This role is focused on expanding market presence and creating qualified business opportunities through strategic outreach and relationship building.
The Account Development Manager will play a key role in generating pipeline, connecting with prospective clients, and supporting business growth initiatives.
Working closely with business development leadership, this position helps optimize outreach strategies, improve sales processes, and strengthen client engagement.
The ideal candidate combines commercial expertise, industry knowledge, and strong communication skills to identify opportunities and build trusted relationships.

Accountabilities:

The Account Development Manager is responsible for increasing market awareness, generating qualified leads, and supporting the business development team in converting opportunities into long-term client relationships. This role requires a proactive approach to prospecting, strong organizational skills, and the ability to develop data-driven outreach strategies.

  • Execute targeted outreach initiatives to generate qualified meetings and business opportunities in alignment with established performance goals.
  • Research and identify potential clients, key stakeholders, and decision-makers using industry databases, professional networks, and market intelligence tools.
  • Develop and maintain account and territory strategies based on industry trends, client profiles, and pipeline objectives.
  • Initiate conversations with prospective clients through calls, emails, direct outreach, networking, and other engagement channels.
  • Understand prospect needs, challenges, and business objectives while introducing relevant solutions and capabilities.
  • Collaborate with business development leaders to refine messaging, improve outreach processes, and establish effective inside sales practices.
  • Support proposal development activities and coordinate with business development teams to progress opportunities.
  • Manage conference-related outreach, including pre-event engagement and post-event lead follow-up.
  • Track sales activities, maintain accurate records in CRM systems, and provide regular pipeline and performance reports.
  • Mentor and support new team members while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate is a commercially driven professional with experience in account development, sales, or business development within life sciences, healthcare, biotechnology, or pharmaceutical environments. They should be comfortable engaging senior stakeholders, managing multiple priorities, and independently driving results.

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience, preferably in a scientific, healthcare, or related discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience within the CRO, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or life sciences industry.
  • Previous experience in account development, inside sales, business development, or client relationship management preferred.
  • Strong understanding of therapeutics and diagnostics development landscapes and relevant industry trends.
  • Proven ability to identify prospects, generate leads, qualify opportunities, and build strong client relationships.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to deliver clear and persuasive messaging through written and verbal channels.
  • Strong active listening and consultative selling skills, with the ability to understand customer needs and address objections effectively.
  • Experience using CRM platforms and sales intelligence tools to manage activities and opportunities.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize workload, and achieve goals with minimal supervision.
  • Strong collaboration skills with the ability to build trust across internal teams and external stakeholders.
