Job Description

Generative Media Engineer, AI Social

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Generative Media Engineer, AI Social based in Canada.

This is an opportunity to build next-generation AI-powered creative tools that transform how businesses create and share social media content.
The role sits at the intersection of software engineering, generative AI, design, and visual storytelling.
You will own the systems that turn raw inputs into polished, branded media experiences using advanced AI models and automation.
Working closely with product, design, and content teams, you will help shape an innovative platform used by thousands of professionals.
This hands-on role is ideal for someone who enjoys experimentation, rapid prototyping, and turning emerging technologies into customer-facing products.
You will have significant ownership over AI workflows, media generation pipelines, and the quality of the final creative output.

Accountabilities:

In this role, you will design, build, and improve AI-driven media generation systems while collaborating across disciplines to deliver high-quality creative experiences. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Own the generative media pipeline, including rendering workflows, AI prompts, agent loops, and systems that transform inputs into finished visual content.
  • Develop and maintain production-ready applications using TypeScript and Node.js while contributing to the evolution of the AI product stack.
  • Build and optimize LLM-powered workflows involving prompts, structured outputs, tool calling, evaluations, and multi-step agent systems.
  • Improve the visual quality, consistency, and scalability of AI-generated content through experimentation, iteration, and thoughtful engineering decisions.
  • Collaborate with product, design, and content strategy teams to translate creative goals into effective technical solutions.
  • Develop reusable systems and frameworks that enable efficient content creation at scale rather than one-off solutions.
  • Prototype new ideas quickly while applying judgment to determine when concepts should evolve into polished customer-facing features.
  • Explore and integrate emerging AI tools, workflows, and technologies to continuously improve development processes and product capabilities.
  • Contribute technical expertise around AI-assisted workflows, including integrations with tools such as design and productivity platforms.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate combines strong engineering fundamentals with creative instincts and practical experience building AI-powered products. Required qualifications and skills include:

  • Strong working knowledge of TypeScript and Node.js, with experience delivering production-quality software.
  • Hands-on experience building LLM-driven systems, including prompt engineering, structured outputs, tool calling, agent workflows, and evaluation approaches.
  • Experience shipping at least one generative media project involving image, video, voice, music, or another creative AI application.
  • A portfolio or body of work demonstrating both technical ability and design sensitivity.
  • Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or similar platforms in daily workflows.
  • Familiarity with AI tool integrations and workflows involving platforms such as Figma, Notion, Linear, or similar environments.
  • Ability to move comfortably between early-stage experimentation, proof-of-concept development, and production-ready execution.
  • Understanding or experience with design, visual arts, film, motion, or other creative disciplines.
  • Strong ownership mindset, curiosity, and willingness to experiment with emerging technologies.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with product, design, and non-engineering teams while communicating technical concepts clearly.
  • Comfort working independently, taking initiative, and making thoughtful decisions in a fast-moving environment.
Benefits:
  • Opportunity to work on an ambitious AI product at the intersection of technology, creativity, and social media.
  • Remote work flexibility within Canada.
  • Hands-on ownership of innovative generative AI systems with significant product impact.
  • Collaboration with a highly creative and technically driven team.
  • Opportunity to influence how AI-powered content creation evolves for modern businesses.
  • Exposure to cutting-edge AI technologies, including generative media models, agent workflows, and automation tools.
  • A culture that values experimentation, ownership, craftsmanship, and continuous learning.
  • Opportunity to contribute to products used by thousands of professionals worldwide
