JOB TITLE: Mechanical Laboratory Technician
REPORTING TO: Quality and Laboratories Manager

JOB SUMMARY:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operate mechanical tests as per test procedures in accordance with CSA, ASTM and internal standards.
- Prepare test specimens, fixtures and tooling’s according to test procedures.
- Analyze, and interpret test data; prepare technical reports and summaries for engineering teams.
- Prepare and perform routine calibration of instruments and preventive maintenance programs.
- Support engineers in experimental design, prototype validation, and root-cause/failure investigations.
- Ensure laboratory compliance with safety, quality, and environmental regulations; Contribute safety audits and risk assessments; Contribute 5S activities.
- Working with Senior Mechanical Laboratory Technician, Coordinate laboratory scheduling, workload planning, and prioritization of testing activities.
- Contribute continuous improvement initiatives to enhance testing accuracy, efficiency, and reliability.
- Manage the qualification samples and ensure their traceability.
- Support quality activities during overloaded period.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Diploma of Vocational Studies (DEP) or Diploma of College Studies (DEC) in electromechanical technology, or in a related field.
- 1-3 years of hands-on experience in a mechanical testing laboratory environment.
- Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and test requirements.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with laboratory software, such as MTS, spreadsheets.
