Painter - The Woodlands

  • POSITION STANDARDS
      • High school graduate with 2 years of painting
      • Knowledgeable in sheetrock taping and spray
  • POSITION PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
    • Anything listed here requires a pre-employment physical by Employee Health to determine if the employee is capable of meeting the requirements.
      • Physical Activity:
          • Must be able to lift, carry, stand, bend, squat, crawl, reach, kneel, push, pull, and twist using good body mechanics for sustained periods of time.
          • Must be able to walk approximately 4 miles daily.
          • Must possess sight/hearing senses, or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately so that the requirements of this position can be fully met.
      • Upper Extremity:
      • Push/Pull/Lift/Carry:
      • Must not have any health condition that prevent meeting the requirements of this position (e.g., allergies that prevent outside work during certain times of the year).
      • Must be able to lift/push up to 50 pounds.
  • PART TWO: FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITY
    • Position Objective
      • Completes wall preparations and painting, assist and perform maintenance when needed. Follows instructions and complete job assignments with a minimal amount of supervision. Assignment of work duties will be directed from the Maintenance Manager, or Maintenance Lead. Assist in ensuring the facility is maintained in excellent condition, both inside and out. All responsibilities will be conducted in a manner that is consistent with the values of APD Lifecare.

    • Performance Expectation
        1. Prepares surfaces, including but not limited to, sheetrock, woodwork, steel and masonry for appropriate surface Preparation may include, sanding, grinding, etching, patching and priming various surfaces. Also removes and reinstalls many walls mounted items such as shelves, pictures, bulletin boards and door hardware.
        2. Applies a variety of surface coatings using appropriate methods such as, brushing, rolling and spraying in order to result in a quality Performs minor sheetrock repairs and joint taping.
        3. Performs routine scheduled preventative maintenance work according to established procedures, including but not limited to, patching and painting, continually monitors the conditions of the buildings painted surface and makes recommendations for changes or improvements, such as wall protection, increase or decrease time and rotation of a PM card resulting in costly short- and long-term repairs.
        4. Performs assigned Work Orders and construction remolding, & approved paint requests from staff and residents.
        5. Prepares estimates of labor and material when requested on proposed Work Orders and construction. Makes recommendations to the supervisor for new or improved materials and methods of painting or varnishing, etc.
        6. Continually reviews Paint Shop stock and supplies and advises supervisor or Storekeeper of the needs in order to complete Work Orders, PM cards and projects.
        7. Adheres to and enforces all Safety and Building Construction codes and standards required by the Hospital and department policies and Monitors and reports any observed unsafe practices and situations.
        8. Performs routine cleaning of work areas and equipment and adheres to Life care and departmental housekeeping practices, removing all waste and debris generated through normal work tasks and disposes of them properly into designated containers.
        9. Operates power tools such as drills, sanders, paint shaker and paint mixer.
        10. Performs other duties as required or assigned.
        11. Interacts with residents in a professional and respectful manor
        12. Communicates resident request to the Maintained Manger or lead and ensures the appropriate work order is created
        13. Maintains and updates paint log.
