Position Summary
Using intermediate to expert knowledge of core financial decision support competencies, position participates in financial analysis and makes recommendations with clinical/financial data. Possesses proficient healthcare industry knowledge to understand strategic, financial, and business development related opportunities to support and drive organizational, service line, and project specific business decisions. Conducts operational finance support for Decision Support modalities such as forecast, budget, month end, productivity, benchmark, and reimbursement reporting.
Responsibilities
• Serves as an operational partner to clinical leaders for all decision support activities that include forecast, budget, month end, productivity, benchmark, and reimbursement reporting
• Works with leaders to facilitate the annual budget process with areas of responsibility
• Conducts month end reporting; investigates financial data to extract cause and effect for variances identified in month end reporting and make recommendations to leaders
• Audits gross charging to identify anomalies on a per statistic basis
• May take part in strategic service line financial performance
• May be tasked with evaluating ROI for strategic capital acquisitions
• Under minimal supervision, completes Ad-Hoc reports as required
• Supports teammates in the event of routine or unexpected absences
• Performs other related duties as assigned
• Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field
• Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
• Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function
• Competent to meet age specific needs of the unit assigned
Requirements and Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in related field required; 4 years’ healthcare data analytics experience may be accepted in lieu of degree
• Minimum 3 years’ decision support, cost accounting, or finance/accounting experience required in addition to education requirement; experience in healthcare field preferred
• Requires an analytical mind, strong problem-solving skills, critical thinking, inquisitive questioning and ability to integrate data from multiple sources
• Ability to query and organize data from various financial and clinical systems
• Expert proficiency in computer software applications (i.e. Microsoft Office) and database applications required
• Intermediate knowledge of the healthcare industry (hospital, clinic, ambulatory, etc)
• Excellent communication skills to include written and oral required
