Summary

A Shipping and Receiving Clerk is responsible for managing incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring accuracy, proper documentation, and timely processing. This role supports warehouse operations by verifying goods, maintaining records, and coordinating with carriers and internal teams.

Roles and Responsibilities

Accept and inspect incoming deliveries for accuracy and damageVerify quantities against purchase orders and packing slipsUnload shipments and organize items in designated storage areasPrepare and package outgoing orders according to company standardsGenerate shipping labels and documentationCoordinate with carriers to ensure timely pickups and deliveriesUpdate inventory systems with received and shipped itemsAssist with cycle counts and inventory auditsReport discrepancies, shortages, or damaged goodsMaintain accurate records of all shipments and receiptsFile and track shipping and receiving documentsEnsure compliance with company and regulatory requirementsOperate forklifts, pallet jacks, or hand trucks as neededEnsure equipment is used safely and maintained properlyCommunicate with vendors, carriers, and internal departmentsResolve shipping or receiving issues (delays, damages, missing items)Coordinate scheduling for inbound and outbound shipments

Qualifications

1+ years of shipping, receiving, or warehouse experience preferredFamiliarity with shipping software or warehouse management systems (WMS)Basic math and computer skillsForklift certification (or ability to obtain)Attention to detail and accuracyOrganizational and time management skillsCommunication and teamworkProblem-solving abilityAbility to work in a fast-paced environment
