This role sits at the intersection of science, clinical strategy, and business development, focused on shaping high-impact solutions within complex internal medicine therapeutic areas. You will act as a strategic leader translating scientific and operational complexity into compelling, client-facing proposals and delivery strategies. Working across pre-award and post-award phases, you will guide cross-functional teams in designing innovative clinical trial approaches that drive competitive differentiation and business growth. The position requires deep therapeutic expertise, strong consulting capabilities, and the ability to influence senior stakeholders in a matrixed, global environment. You will play a critical role in ensuring proposals are not only scientifically robust but also operationally feasible and commercially successful. This is a highly visible leadership role with direct impact on client engagement, study success, and organizational growth.
Lead the development and execution of therapeutic and operational strategies across internal medicine engagements, ensuring alignment with client needs and business objectives.
- Drive end-to-end strategy development for proposals, RFIs, and bid defenses in collaboration with business development and cross-functional teams.
- Translate complex scientific, clinical, and operational insights into differentiated, client-centric solutions.
- Lead cross-functional teams in designing clinical trial strategies, including feasibility, country/site selection, recruitment, and vendor approaches.
- Partner with internal experts to assess protocol design, risk mitigation, and operational delivery models.
- Represent strategic solutions in client meetings and bid defense presentations, ensuring clear articulation of value and win themes.
- Provide post-award strategic guidance and support to ensure continuity and alignment during study execution.
- Collaborate closely with sales and delivery teams to ensure smooth transition from proposal to execution.
- Champion innovative methodologies and CORE-powered solutions to strengthen competitive positioning.
Candidates should bring extensive clinical research and internal medicine expertise, combined with strong strategic consulting and leadership experience in global clinical environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences required; advanced degree preferred.
- 10+ years of global clinical research experience, including clinical operations and/or drug development exposure.
- Strong expertise in internal medicine therapeutic areas such as rheumatology, dermatology, gastroenterology, or immunology.
- Proven experience in clinical trial strategy, protocol development, and operational study design.
- Deep understanding of the drug development lifecycle and global biopharma industry dynamics.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead virtual, cross-functional teams in a matrix organization.
- Experience supporting bid defenses, client presentations, and complex proposal development.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities in complex environments.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including executive-level interaction.
- Ability to operate in ambiguous, fast-paced environments with competing priorities.
- Strong knowledge of clinical operations, competitive landscape, and regulatory considerations.
- Competitive base salary ranging from $114,900 to $319,900, depending on experience, qualifications, and location.
