JOB SUMMARY: The CNA will work with a team of health care staff responsible for implementation of each member’s individualized care along with providing oversight of program activities, staffing, supervising, and training staff and ensuring adherence to compliance and regulation standards.
PHYSICAL REQUIReMENTS & DEMANDS:
- Have near normal hearing: Hear alarms/telephone/normal speaking voice.
- Have near normal vision: Clarity of vision (both near and far), ability to distinguish colors.
- Have good manual dexterity.
- Have good eye-hand foot coordination.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks/motion.
- Continuously within shift (67-100%): Standing, Walking.
- Frequently within shift (34-66%): Bending/Stooping, Pushing/Pulling, Lift/carry up to 25lbs, Lift/carry greater than 25 lbs. with assistance.
- Occasionally within shift (1-33%): Sitting, Climbing, Twist at waist, Lift/Carry greater than 50 lbs. with assistance, Reaching above shoulder.
- Light Work requiring exerting up to 20 pounds of force frequently to move objects. Some elements of the job are sedentary, but the employee will be required to stand for periods of time or move throughout the premise
- No substantial exposure to adverse environmental conditions

JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES:
- Maintains records of client care, condition, progress, or problems to report and discuss observations with executive director/manager.
- Interacts and partakes in stimulating activities with the clients with interactive daily activities.
- Entertains, converses with, or reads aloud to clients to keep them mentally healthy and alert.
- Interacts and partakes in stimulating activities with the clients.
- Assist the clients with activities of daily living/personal care, when needed.
- Observes the clients and makes sure they are acting in an appropriate manner.
- Serves meals to patients or other family members, according to prescribed diets.
- Checks patients’ pulse, temperature, and respiration.
- Ensures the clients are comfortable and are cared for properly.
- Cleans up the facility and after the clients.
- Keeps and maintains a clean, stable, and secure environment for the clients.
- Completes paperwork as advised by management.
- Makes decisions based on specific instructions, standard practices and established procedures which generally require little or no supervision.
- Addresses problems that are routine, somewhat repetitive, and generally solved by following clear directions and procedures and by identifying opportunities for process improvements.
- Follows precedents and procedures. May set priorities and organize work within general guidelines. Seeks assistance when confronted with difficult and/or unpredictable situations. Work progress is monitored by supervisor/manager.
EDUCATION, CREDENTIALS & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- High School diploma or GED Required
- CNA certification in GA required
- CMA (Certified Medication Assistant) certification preferred
- AHA BLS certification within 30 days of hire
- Prefer someone with special needs or geriatric experience
