Job Description
Position Description: Who We Are
Hispanic Federation (HF) is the nation's premier Latino nonprofit membership organization. Position
Hispanic Federation seeks a Director of Digital Strategy to develop and manage strategies and oversee content creation across HF’s digital platforms. The director will ensure that HF presents a unified voice on its online platforms and actively engages the public to promote HF’s work at the national and regional level. The director will oversee content distribution and development for HF’s social media platforms in collaboration with the Director of Multimedia Content, who oversees the production of HF’s video content.
A successful candidate is an experienced strategist who also has a passion for creating and planning content across various platforms. The director will also have experience in supervision as they will oversee the work of the Digital Communications Coordinator and work closely with consultants to develop and execute content.
This position is hybrid and will require onsite presence either in the office or on the field with a minimum of 10 days onsite.

Responsibilities
- Serve as the point of contact for all digital media needs; streamline requests and collaborate with various internal teams to ensure the communications strategy is being executed.
- Develop and implement engaging social media plans and content across the Federation’s X, Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn accounts.
- Work closely with the rest of the communications team to develop digital components to non-digital media plans.
- Provide guidance for programmatic and state-level social media accounts to ensure uniformity across organizational accounts that are directly or indirectly managed by the digital communications team.
- Develop social media plans and toolkits for programs that can be leveraged by internal teams and external partners.
- Work with the Director of Multimedia Content to ensure that photo and video capture takes place at key events while also publishing content in real-time with staff support.
- Develop social media distribution plans and guidance for content that the Director of Multimedia content.
- Generate reports to analyze social media performance and optimize social media content to ensure maximum reach. This will also include end of campaign reports to highlight successes and opportunities for growth in recent media campaigns.
- Work with the Director of Multimedia Content to develop social media videos featuring staff members while also promoting programs and services offered by HF.
- Support the development and distribution of newsletters, mass emails and texts, brochures, calls to action, and other digital communications.
- Support the Director of Multimedia Content in ensuring that the HF website up-to-date.
- Turn policies and programmatic information into exciting and engaging messaging, disseminating it to the right audiences through the best channels is critical.
- Stay up to date on the latest social media trends and digital ad practices so HF can continue to develop content in accordance with the current standards.
- Ability to manage multiple projects that include budget tracking.
- Supervise the work of the Digital Communications Coordinator.
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree and at least four (4) years of communications experience required. Communications experience with a national, multi-focused nonprofit highly desired.
- Experience working with social media management tools such as Meltwater, Buffer, Hootsuite, etc.
- Experience with editing on software like Adobe Premiere, Photoshop, and Canva.
- Ability to shoot video on DSLR cameras or smart phones.
- In depth knowledge of leveraging Instagram, Facebook, X/Twitter, LinkedIn, and other emerging social media platforms to maximize reach.
- Ability to create reports and one-pagers evaluating social media performance, metrics and analytics promptly.
- Understand how to leverage social media metrics and analytics to increase follower count and implement strategic posts.
- Experience creating organic posts and paid ads with external stakeholders and generating reports for both external and internal stakeholders.
- Experience managing outreach lists for email and text communications.
- Experience or ability to develop scripts for videos.
- Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to speak and write in Spanish is strongly preferred.
- A strong track record as a proactive implementer who can also multitask.
- Strong collaborator who has experience managing multiple stakeholders.
- Self-starter, able to work independently, and entrepreneurial; enjoys creating and implementing new initiatives.
- Experience working in fast-paced environment with rapidly changing priorities.
- Highly collaborative.
- Experience working with website management and e-mail marketing is a bonus but not required.
Compensation and Benefits:
The position’s annual salary starts at $70,000 to $80,000, and the salary is commensurate with experience. Compensation comes with a robust benefits package with fully subsidized medical, dental, and vision insurance available upon first day of employment, 403(B) retirement plans with a company match after 6 months, and access to flexible spending and pre-tax commuter benefits.
First year employees of the Hispanic Federation receive a PTO package with 15 days designated for vacation and 12 Sick Days annually.
