POSITION OVERVIEW:
Gold Star Foods is looking for a self-motivated JR. Staff Accountant to join our Accounting & Finance team. In this role, you’ll play an important part in our company’s financial operations, ensuring accuracy in accounting and compliance with the law.
PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Posting journal entries and accruals
- Bankaccountreconciliations
- Assistwithpostingbank activityandpreparing bank accountreconciliation for Gold Star Divisions
- Be the liaison betweenaccountingteam and the operational teams on forecasted spend to ensure recording appropriately in ledger.
- Assistwith other month-end closing activities and provide management with reports, data, and analysis as requested formonth-endclosing and various audits
- Assistwith preparing monthly balance sheet, incomestatementand changes in financial position/budget variance analyses
- Work with theappropriate departmentto research and resolve discrepancy issuestimely
- Review daily issues andworkwith the team to resolve
- Work with theDivisionController in completing a clear year end audit
- Other duties as assigned
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Foodservice distribution experience (Preferred) and/or supply chain experience (Plus)
- Experience with inventory cost accounting and understanding of accounting for manufacturing (Required)
- Intermediate/advanced Microsoft Excel skills (i.e.pivot tables &vlookups)
- Hands-on experience with accounting and ERP software (Microsoft Navision / Dynamics 365 Business Central is a plus)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability todemonstrateadvanced analytic skills, including excellent mathematical skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate with multiple levels and multiple departments within an organization
- Strong understanding of theGenerally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
EDUCATION/EXPIRENCE:
- 3years’ experience
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business (preferred)
Salary: $75,000.00
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
This position will be in an office setting at a desk equipped with computer, monitors, phone, and other applicable resources/equipment. It will require the applicant to routinely sit, stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, and bend for up to 8 hours. Position requires the occasional lifting of objects up to 10lbs.
