We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Foreclosure Paralegal to join our default practice group. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive support to one or more attorneys in managing a high-volume foreclosure litigation caseload. This role requires strong organizational skills, proficiency in legal procedures specific to foreclosure actions, and the ability to handle time-sensitive tasks while ensuring compliance with court rules, client requirements, and all deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of client, court, and opposing counsel correspondence, including drafting, reviewing, and responding to emails, letters, and phone communications in a professional and timely manner.

• Schedule hearings, depositions, and other court-related events; coordinate with judicial staff and maintain accurate calendars for assigned attorneys.

• Prepare, file, and record legal documents with courts and county recorder offices, including motions, orders, discovery requests/responses, pleadings, and affidavits.

• Conduct regular mailings, including service of process, notices, and other required communications.

• Work closely and directly with assigned attorney(s) to support case strategy and daily operations.

• Review files to identify billable tasks, request hourly fees for each file, and ensure the assigned attorney accurately bills for completed work in compliance with client guidelines.

• Conduct weekly file reviews with assigned attorneys to assess case status, identify upcoming deadlines, and develop action plans to keep cases moving forward efficiently.

• Proactively monitor case progress to ensure all court-imposed, client, and internal deadlines are met, preventing delays and maintaining compliance with procedural requirements.

• Maintain organized electronic and physical case files, including document management and e-filing systems.

• Perform additional administrative and paralegal duties as needed to support the foreclosure litigation team.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3–5 years of experience as a paralegal, preferably in foreclosure, real estate, or creditor rights law.

• Paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program strongly preferred; Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience considered.

• Strong working knowledge of foreclosure processes, court rules, e-filing systems (e.g., local and federal courts), and document recording procedures.

• Proficiency in legal software, Microsoft Office Suite, and PDF tools (Adobe Acrobat).

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a professional demeanor.

• Exceptional organizational and time-management abilities; proven capability to manage a high-volume caseload with minimal supervision.

• Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to accuracy, deadlines, and proactive follow-through.

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment in sensitive matters.

Preferred Skills

• Experience tracking and managing attorney billing and client invoicing.

• Familiarity with Judicial and Non-Judicial foreclosure procedures and courts.

• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
