Job Description

Senior Director of Marketing

Accompany Health is on a mission to give patients with complex needs the dignified, high-quality care they deserve but rarely receive. A primary, behavioral, and social care provider, Accompany Health walks alongside patients for their entire care journey, offering at-home and virtual care, as well as 24/7 support. Partnering with innovative payors, Accompany Health is powered by remarkable care teams, elegant technology, and a commitment to evidence-based practice.

We build long-term relationships with our patients so they know, without question, that our team is here for them day or night, year after year. We focus on the health outcomes most important to our patients to make it clear that they lead the way.

To achieve our mission, we collaborate with community-based organizations, local providers, and health plans. Led by our empathetic care teams, guided by proven care models, and powered by our own technology, we deliver a level of service that our communities rightfully deserve but rarely receive.

While our headquarters is in Bethesda, MD, our teams are distributed across the country. If youre eager to make a tangible difference in peoples lives, to help correct long-standing disparities in health care, join us.

About the role:

This is a rare opportunity to shape the brand of a high-growth, venture-backed healthcare company from the ground up. As Senior Director, Brand Marketing, you'll step in with meaningful input into how Accompany Health looks, sounds, and shows up in the world, partnering with executive stakeholders to finalize decisions. You'll set the external brand strategy, sharpen the value proposition for patients and payers alike, and bring it to life through the paid, earned, and content programs you and your team build.

The ideal candidate wants to be deep in the work, close to the strategy and execution, with high impact and visibility. You'll build and lead a team of marketers, setting direction and raising the bar for their work, while partnering directly with a highly experienced executive team.

The role and team is fully remote. You'll join a distributed group that spans the country while collaborating closely with Product, Design, Growth, and Clinical Operations, plus an external PR agency, to make sure the Accompany Health brand feels consistent and credible everywhere patients, providers, and payers encounter it.

Responsibilities will include:

Brand Positioning:

  • Shape and implement brand positioning in partnership with the PR agency

  • Define and sharpen the value proposition across audiences, including patients and health plans

  • Craft and steward a distinctive visual identity across all audiences

  • Manage the content calendar, including production and implementation, in close collaboration with PR agency – from peer-review manuscripts and conferences to video, carousels, and papers

Brand Awareness:

  • Drive paid media strategy across Meta, LinkedIn, and other targeted, regional, and national channels

  • Lead earned media strategy, including PR and social

  • Build and maintain the integrated marketing calendar, determining what brand creative runs and when

Channel Development:

  • Manage and elevate owned channels as brand channel, including: corporate website, blog, Meta, LinkedIn, and YouTube

  • Continually test, iterate, and explore new channels

Lifecycle Marketing:

  • Own the work of moving patients from eligible to engaged through onboarding, activation and retention through direct marketing channels (mailers, SMS, outbound calls, digital)

  • Define the messaging strategy that targets patients at each stage of the enrollment journey

  • Determine cadence and sequencing of marketing campaigns across direct mail, SMS, and outbound call touchpoints, including fulfillment and execution

  • Direct creative development, including branding and look and feel of marketing materials, across patient education content, Welcome Boxes and folders, and on-site specialist materials — for maximum breakthrough and credibility.

  • Partner with Data Science and Patient Engagement teams to evaluate the effectiveness of patient engagement campaigns

Marketing Measurement & Resourcing:

  • Establish marketing measurement, including dashboards and reporting.

  • Manage the marketing budget and its tracking

  • Support the marketing roadmap, including quarterly resourcing conversations with Product and Design

Team Management:

  • Directly manage a team of marketers – hiring, developing, and growing the team as the function scales

  • Set direction and priorities for direct reports, and coach them to raise the bar on their work

Other Job Functions:

  • Support the Product and Patient Engagement & Experience teams on member acquisition strategy

  • Support the Provider team on provider material development through a brand strategy lens

  • Support the Growth team on payer-facing content, such as pitch decks and quarterly payer updates

  • Performs other duties as assigned

What makes you a fit for the team:
  • You're an expert brand practitioner who wants to be hands-on with the strategy and the craft— and you're excited by the room to grow your scope as the company scales

  • You move easily between multiple audiences (patients, payers, providers) and can tailor voice, message, and channel to each

  • You bring structure to ambiguity, building roadmaps, calendars, and dashboards that keep a fast-moving function organized

  • You collaborate naturally with senior leaders and across teams — Product, Design, Growth, and Clinical — as well as with external partners like PR and creative agencies

  • You thrive in a remote, distributed environment and can build strong working relationships without being in the same room

  • You are motivated by the mission of improving care for patients with complex needs and want your work to have a direct, visible impact

Desired skills and experience:
  • Required

    • 5-7+ years of progressive marketing and brand leadership experience, including building/scaling a marketing function, ideally in healthcare, health tech, or another regulated, mission-driven industry

    • Track record owning brand positioning and narrative end-to-end — strategy through paid, earned, and content execution — with measurable impact on brand awareness and demand

    • Experience running paid and earned media programs (e.g., Meta, LinkedIn, PR) and managing external agencies (creative, media, PR)

    • Experience developing content strategy and overseeing production across formats (video, written); comfort building thought leadership programs with clinical/technical SMEs a plus

    • Proven people leadership — able to manage, coach, and grow a small team while staying close to execution in a fast-scaling environment

    • Strong cross-functional collaborator — able to partner with Product, Data Science, Network, and Growth without owning it all

    • Experience owning a marketing budget and reporting on performance/ROI

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, adaptable across audiences and formats

    • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field, or equivalent practical experience

  • Preferred

    • Familiarity with value-based care, health plans, or provider audiences

    • Consumer marketing background
