Job description

We are seeking a Freelance Associate Director, Product Strategy to lead a strategic product discovery engagement for an enterprise client. This role will be responsible for defining customer-centric product strategies, translating business objectives into actionable recommendations, and establishing the strategic foundation for future phases of the engagement.

The ideal candidate brings extensive experience leading Product Strategy and Experience Strategy initiatives, facilitating executive-level workshops, and partnering with cross-functional teams to deliver impactful product recommendations. This is a highly collaborative, client-facing role that requires strong strategic thinking, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

What you'll be doing
  • Lead product strategy and discovery initiatives for complex digital products and services.
  • Develop user personas and Jobs-to-Be-Done (JTBD) frameworks across multiple customer audiences.
  • Facilitate customer journey mapping exercises to identify pain points and opportunities throughout the end-to-end experience.
  • Design measurement frameworks aligned with business goals, KPIs, and product success metrics.
  • Define product priorities, roadmap recommendations, and decision-making frameworks that support business objectives.
  • Translate research, business needs, and user insights into clear strategic product recommendations.
  • Facilitate workshops and collaborate with Product, UX, Design, Engineering, and business stakeholders to drive alignment.
  • Present strategic recommendations to client stakeholders and guide discussions throughout the engagement.
What we would like to see
  • 8+ years of experience in Product Management, Product Strategy, Experience Strategy, Service Design, UX Strategy, or Digital Consulting.
  • Proven experience leading strategic product discovery and product definition engagements for enterprise organizations.
  • Strong expertise in personas, Jobs-to-Be-Done (JTBD), customer journey mapping, and experience strategy.
  • Experience developing measurement frameworks tied to business objectives and KPIs.
  • Strong product prioritization skills, including defining product scope, roadmap priorities, and strategic recommendations.
  • Experience working in consulting firms, digital agencies, or other client-facing environments is highly preferred.
  • Excellent facilitation, communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Professional English proficiency with excellent verbal and written communication skills.

This role is currently not available for hire or work in New Mexico and Hawaii, USA.

The salary range for this position is as listed below. Exactly where a prospective employee will be paid within this range will depend on, among other factors, the actual salary ranges for current and former employees who are either currently filling a similar role or did in the past; the candidates depth of experience and qualifications; the level of specialization the role requires; budgetary considerations; the market demand for that role and the local market conditions that exist where the employee will be based. For current Huge employees, tenure will also be a consideration.
