Director of Strategic Implementation Operations

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Director of Strategic Implementation Operations based in the United States.

The Director of Strategic Implementation Operations will translate organizational growth priorities into actionable strategies, scalable operating models, and measurable business outcomes across multiple markets. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, you will work closely with senior leaders across clinical operations, marketing, technology, and finance to improve performance and execution. A central focus of this role is optimizing the end-to-end patient journey, identifying operational friction, and creating more efficient, compassionate, and accessible experiences. You will combine analytical problem-solving, financial evaluation, process design, and cross-functional leadership to turn complex challenges into practical solutions. By establishing clear performance metrics, governance frameworks, and implementation plans, you will strengthen accountability and support sustainable growth. This is a high-impact opportunity to shape operational excellence within a rapidly expanding, patient-centered healthcare organization. The position offers hybrid or remote flexibility within designated U.S. regions, with approximately 20% travel.

Accountabilities:

As a strategic and analytical operator, you will connect business priorities with operational execution, ensuring that initiatives are properly evaluated, implemented, and measured. You will collaborate across departments to improve patient experiences, optimize resources, and support growth across multiple markets. Key responsibilities include:

  • Strategic planning and growth execution: Translate enterprise growth priorities into operational strategies, measurable initiatives, and implementation plans across markets. Establish planning cadences, prioritization frameworks, and governance mechanisms that strengthen accountability, execution, and cross-functional alignment.

  • Patient journey optimization: Evaluate the complete patient journey, from initial inquiry through treatment onboarding, to identify friction points, communication gaps, inefficient handoffs, and opportunities to make the experience clearer, more compassionate, and easier to navigate.

  • Growth analysis and business case development: Analyze patient acquisition, activation, conversion, retention, funnel performance, and market opportunities. Develop executive-ready business cases and decision memos that integrate patient needs, operational realities, financial implications, risks, and required capabilities.

  • KPI ownership and executive reporting: Own key marketing, patient funnel, operational, and systems performance metrics, including patient demand, inquiry response times, appointment conversion, campaign performance, clinic capacity alignment, system adoption, and workflow efficiency.

  • Analytics and financial partnership: Build dashboards, reports, and executive summaries connecting marketing activity, patient journey performance, operational constraints, resource allocation, and growth. Partner with Finance to evaluate return on investment, market economics, budget allocation, resource utilization, and strategic tradeoffs.

  • Process design and business requirements: Act as the liaison between business stakeholders, clinical and finance operations, and technology partners. Define, document, and prioritize business requirements, functional specifications, workflows, data flows, and success measures.

  • Continuous process improvement: Maintain ownership of operational processes after launch, using performance data and frontline feedback to refine workflows, clarify roles and decision rights, improve handoffs, and establish effective escalation paths.

  • Business readiness and change management: Coordinate stakeholder alignment, operational readiness, business communications, frontline engagement, and procedural changes for approved initiatives. Assess operating-model, process, capacity, and adoption risks, coordinating mitigation with accountable functional owners.

  • Testing and implementation oversight: Co-lead user acceptance testing with operational users and provide business sign-off against defined acceptance criteria. Partner with AI Transformation and Technology teams on rollout sequencing, training coordination, adoption, and feedback loops, while technical and integration testing, technical training, release readiness, and stabilization remain with Technology.

  • Patient experience and operational outcomes: Collaborate with operational and technology owners to track patient satisfaction, time to service, and reductions in administrative burden, ensuring initiatives deliver measurable improvements for both patients and teams.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate combines strong analytical and financial capabilities with excellent project management, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills. You should be comfortable navigating ambiguity, translating strategy into structured execution, and working with clinical and business leaders across multiple locations. The following qualifications and experience are important:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.

  • 2–5+ years of experience in strategy, business operations, growth operations, management consulting, investment banking, corporate strategy, healthcare operations, or a similarly analytical role.

  • Demonstrated ability to structure ambiguous problems, analyze data, develop recommendations, and align senior stakeholders around priorities and decisions.

  • Experience translating strategic objectives into operating plans, cross-functional processes, KPIs, and scalable execution models.

  • Strong analytical and financial acumen, with the ability to interpret funnel, volume, operational, and financial data to inform business decisions and resource allocation.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience creating executive presentations, business cases, dashboards, decision memos, and performance reports.

  • Strong systems and process knowledge, including experience with dashboards, CRM or patient funnel reporting, project management tools, and workflow management processes.

  • Experience managing, coaching, or providing functional leadership to direct reports or cross-functional execution partners.

  • Excellent project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives, clinics, or markets simultaneously while navigating ambiguity.

  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, including the credibility to collaborate effectively with clinical professionals and provider audiences.

The following experience is preferred:

  • Background in management consulting, investment banking, private equity portfolio operations, corporate strategy, business operations, or strategic finance.

  • Experience in healthcare, fertility, women's health, consumer healthcare, multi-site services, or other operationally complex industries.

  • Experience supporting multi-location, multi-market, or practice-based businesses where enterprise strategy must be translated into localized execution.

Benefits:

  • Annual starting salary range of $150,000–$190,000, depending on relevant knowledge, skills, experience, certifications, and education.

  • Hybrid or remote work arrangements within designated regions: California, New York, or Oregon.

  • Approximately 20% expected travel.

  • Competitive medical, dental, and vision insurance plans.

  • Paid time off to support rest and personal commitments.

  • Access to BetterHelp therapy sessions for mental and emotional well-being.

  • Commuter benefits and discounted home, auto, and pet insurance.

  • 401(k) retirement plan with up to a 4% company match.

  • Comprehensive fertility and parental leave benefits.

  • Career development opportunities within a rapidly growing organization.

  • Employer-paid life and disability insurance.
