Position Title: CNC Machinist
Location: Summerville, South Carolina
Professional Direct Hire
Description: HTI is seeking experienced CNC Machinists for a leading manufacturer in Summerville, SC. These positions support critical defense, aerospace, naval, and industrial manufacturing programs and are focused on the setup, operation, and machining of precision components utilizing CNC equipment. While Vertical Turning Lathe (VTL) experience is highly preferred, candidates with experience operating Horizontal Boring Mills (HBMs), Horizontal Turning Centers, CNC Mills, and other large machining equipment are encouraged to apply. These are Direct Hire opportunities available on 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts. The pay range is $34 - $42/hr depending on experience and machine expertise.

- 2nd Shift: 7%
- 3rd Shift: 10%
What You Need:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum 5 years of CNC machining experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience setting up and operating CNC machine tools independently
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T specifications
- Experience using precision measuring equipment including micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, dial indicators, and height gauges
- Strong understanding of:
- Feeds and speeds
- Tooling selection
- Machine offsets
- Material properties
- Machining best practices
- U.S. Citizenship required due to defense-related manufacturing programs
What Your Role Will Look Like:
The CNC Machinist will be responsible for the setup, operation, and production of precision-machined components while maintaining strict quality and safety standards. - Set up and operate CNC machine tools including:
- Vertical Turning Lathes (VTLs)
- Horizontal Boring Mills (HBMs)
- Horizontal Turning Centers
- CNC Milling Machines
- Multi-Axis Machining Centers
- Machine large and complex components to engineering specifications and tolerances
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, work instructions, and GD&T requirements
- Select tooling, fixtures, work holding devices, cutting parameters, and machine offsets
- Perform machining operations including:
- Turning
- Boring
- Facing
- Grooving
- Threading
- Drilling
- Tapping
- Milling
- Profiling
- Conduct in-process and final inspections using precision measuring instruments
- Verify dimensional accuracy and ensure compliance with quality standards
- Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and process-related issues
- Monitor machine performance and make adjustments as needed to maintain productivity and quality
- Safely operate overhead cranes, forklifts, and material handling equipment
- Complete production and quality documentation accurately
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, and operational efficiency
- Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Production teams to meet customer requirements and production schedules
- Follow all safety procedures and company policies
- Additional duties as assigned
