Director of Learning
Gan Mah Tov Preschool
Reports to: Preschool Director
Position Overview
Gan Mah Tov is seeking a thoughtful, creative, and collaborative Director of Learning to help
shape and elevate the educational experience across our preschool community. This role is
designed for an experienced early childhood educator and instructional leader who is
passionate about curriculum development, teacher growth and engagement, Jewish early
childhood education, and creating meaningful, child-centered learning environments.
Working closely with the Gan Director, the Director of Learning will lead curriculum planning
and implementation, support teacher development and coaching, and help ensure consistency,
excellence, and innovation across classrooms. The Director of Learning will also help deepen
and advance the Gan’s Reggio Emilia-inspired practices, partnering with teachers to translate
philosophy into daily classroom experiences, documentation, and learning environments. This
individual will play a key role in strengthening the pedagogical foundation of the school while
helping teachers feel inspired, supported, and empowered in their work.
Key Responsibilities
Curriculum Development & Instructional Leadership
● Develop, refine, and oversee a cohesive, developmentally appropriate curriculum
aligned with the school’s philosophy and values
● Partner with teachers to design engaging classroom experiences rooted in inquiry,
creativity, play, and Jewish learning
● Ensure curriculum reflects best practices in early childhood education and supports
social-emotional, cognitive, physical, and spiritual development
● Integrate Jewish values, holidays, traditions, Hebrew language, and community
experiences into the learning environment in meaningful and age-appropriate ways
● Support long-term curriculum planning and documentation across age groups
● Identify opportunities to elevate classroom materials, provocations, projects, and
learning environments
Teacher Enablement & Professional Growth
● Serve as an instructional coach and mentor to teaching staff
● Help teachers strengthen classroom management, lesson planning, child engagement,
and communication practices
● Lead professional development workshops, training sessions, and collaborative planning
meetings
● Support onboarding and ongoing development of new teachers
● Foster a culture of reflection, collaboration, curiosity, and continuous learning among
staff
● Help teachers translate educational philosophy into daily classroom practice
● Serve as a collaborative instructional presence within classrooms, floating as needed to
support curriculum delivery, coach teachers in real time, and provide coverage during
staff absences
Educational Quality & School Partnership
● Collaborate closely with the Gan Director on educational vision, school priorities, and
strategic initiatives
● Help ensure consistency and excellence in the family experience across classrooms
● Assist in evaluating educational materials, classroom resources, and enrichment
opportunities
● Support documentation of student learning and classroom experiences
● Participate in school events, family education opportunities, and community-building
initiatives
Qualifications
● Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development,
Educational Leadership, or related field
● Significant experience in preschool or early childhood education settings
● Demonstrated experience in curriculum development and teacher coaching
● Deep understanding of child-centered, play-based, and inquiry-driven learning
● Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills
● Warm, collaborative, and growth-oriented approach to working with educators and
families
● Knowledge of Hebrew and Jewish traditions, values, and culture preferred
● Experience in Jewish early childhood settings preferred but not required

Compensation and Benefits
Compensation range is $55,000 - $65,000, and commensurate with experience and
qualifications
Benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance; a 401(k)-retirement plan; paid time off
for school closures, including most federal and Jewish holidays; 10 days of paid time off during
the academic year; and an additional four weeks of paid summer leave
