Job Description

Membership Coordinator

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Membership Coordinator in United States.

This role serves as the central connector between a mission-driven network of water professionals and the tools, events, and communities that support them. You will be responsible for building and nurturing relationships with member agencies, ensuring they are actively engaged and deriving meaningful value from the organization’s programs and platforms. Acting as both a relationship builder and program coordinator, you will help grow the membership base while strengthening retention and satisfaction. The position blends outreach, account management, communications, and event ownership in a highly collaborative environment. You will work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders across the water sector, a space where long-term thinking and consensus-building are essential. This is a highly people-focused role requiring empathy, organization, and strong communication skills. Your work will directly shape how members experience and benefit from the network.

Accountabilities:
  • Serve as the first point of contact for current and prospective member agencies, ensuring a welcoming and responsive experience
  • Drive member growth by identifying, engaging, and onboarding new agencies through outreach and consistent follow-up
  • Manage ongoing member relationships through regular check-ins, account management, and retention efforts
  • Support member success by connecting agencies with tools, resources, and services, including software adoption and training support
  • Gather and synthesize member feedback to help inform the development of new benefits, programs, and tools
  • Plan and oversee major events, including the annual water data summit, including agenda development and sponsor coordination
  • Coordinate and execute webinars, workshops, and other member-facing events throughout the year
  • Manage committee and working group logistics, including scheduling, agendas, and follow-up actions
  • Lead member-facing communications such as newsletters, updates, and digital engagement initiatives
  • Develop and maintain sponsor relationships, particularly in support of major events and programs
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external contractors to ensure consistent and effective member engagement activities
Requirements:
  • 3+ years of experience in member success, customer success, account management, partnerships, community management, or similar roles
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage both executive-level stakeholders and operational staff
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders simultaneously
  • Experience working in remote, distributed environments using collaboration tools such as Slack, Zoom, Notion, Asana, or similar
  • Genuine interest in supporting people and building strong professional relationships
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience
  • Experience in event planning, conference coordination, or stakeholder engagement is highly desirable
  • Familiarity with software adoption or SaaS tools is a plus
  • Experience working with utilities, water agencies, or public-sector organizations is an advantage but not required
  • Marketing, communications, or community-building experience is a strong plus
  • Ability to operate in ambiguous, evolving environments with a proactive and self-directed mindset
Benefits:
  • Competitive annual salary range of $90,000 – $120,000
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance coverage
  • Standard benefits package offered by the organization
  • Fully remote work with required travel within California (approximately 3 days per month)
  • Participation in high-impact sector events and the annual California Water Data Summit
  • Opportunity to contribute to mission-driven work addressing water resilience and climate challenges
