As an Optomechanical Engineer for our organization, you will be responsible for developing advanced optical systems and mechanical designs for our products. Your key goal is to ensure that the products we design meet customer expectations by providing seamless, efficient designs utilizing both optical and mechanical engineering principles. Your creativity and technical acumen are essential to success in this position.
Job duties include:
• Opto-Mechanical (O-M) Design
• Mechanical Baffle Integration
• Error Budget Support
• Model Handoff
• Fabrication Preparation (Post-Phase 3)
• Programmatic & Meeting Support
• Develop innovative cost-effective product solutions
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• Proven experience in optomechanical systems design
• Optomechanical design of spaceflight instruments
• Analysis for tolerancing
• Materials selection for spaceflight instruments and related systems
• Ability to interpret technical documentation and diagrams
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Knowledge of optics, 3D CAD and optomechanical simulation tools
• Ability to work independently and with a team
