Position Summary
The UNM Department of Psychiatry andBehavioral Sciences is eager to put together the right package for anindividual with a passion for adult inpatient psychiatry and teaching, coupledwith an interest in joining a team of talented, caring and committed facultymembers. Applications are being accepted for an academic faculty psychiatrist,suitable for appointment at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or fullProfessor, for a position as an inpatient attending psychiatrist on our Adult PsychiatryDivisions Inpatient Service . Clinical assignment will be at UNM PsychiatricCenter. The successful candidate can take full advantage of opportunitiesavailable in our vibrant and active academic community.

As an attending psychiatrist in our32-bed adult psychiatry inpatient service, the person selected will have avoice in developing the units direction as well as opportunities formulticultural clinical care and scholarly and collaborative research activitiesacross the Health Sciences campus. There are many opportunities forprofessional development in leadership, administration, and education,including mentoring and supervision of medical students, residents, fellows,and trainees in related disciplines.

Salary and academic rank arecommensurate with experience and academic background.

Qualifications

MinimumQualifications:

• DoctorateDegree (MD or equivalent);
• Board certifiedor board eligible in General Psychiatry;
• Clinicalexperience minimum 1 year;
• Licensable inNew Mexico;
• Must beeligible to work in the United States.

PreferredQualifications:

• Educational,teaching and supervision experience with residents, fellows and medicalstudents;
• Clinicalleadership experience in an academic setting;
• A demonstratedcommitment to cultivate an understanding of the rich and varied cultures of NewMexico and to the success of the University's mission to serve local and globalcommunities.
