Sheet Metal Decking Installer/Back-up Driver in Nationwide at Gardner-Watson Decking, Inc

We are seeking an experienced Sheet Metal Decking Installer/Back-up Driver/Ironworker to join our team. This role involves the safe installation of sheet metal decking on steel framing and performing shear stud installation. The ideal candidate is reliable, safety-conscious, and comfortable working at heights and in varied weather conditions. We are looking for someone who is ready to step in and drive our crew in the company truck when needed to the job sites.

$23.00-$27.00/hour plus per diem ($75-$100 daily)

Key Responsibilities:

• Lay and attach metal decking on steel structures
• Operate hand, power, pneumatic, and powder-actuated tools safely and effectively
• Maintain tools and equipment in proper working conditions
• Accurately report time and attendance using technology
• Comply with OSHA, customer, and company safety standards
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Physical Requirements:

• Lift more than seventy-five pounds (75 lbs.)

Work Environment:

• Work on construction sites
• Work at heights greater than forty feet (40 ft.)
• Outdoor weather conditions (heat and cold)
• Work with hand, power, pneumatic and powder actuated tools

Work Schedule:

• Full-time, hourly, working daytime shift only
• Projects typically last 2-3 months each but some last much longer. When a project ends, each crew travels to a different city/state to start the next project.
• Work hours are based on jobsite requirements and may vary slightly due to seasonal and weather conditions. We have sites in GA, AR, TX, VA, AZ, SC, MA, AL and many more.
