This role offers the opportunity to help transform telecom managed services through AI, automation, and advanced network technologies. You will contribute to a major managed services transformation program, working at the intersection of telecom engineering, network operations, and emerging AI capabilities. The position combines hands-on configuration, development, testing, troubleshooting, and technical consulting across enterprise monitoring and management platforms. You will build intelligent automation workflows and Model Context Protocol (MCP) integrations that streamline operations and address complex network challenges. Working alongside engineers, architects, analysts, and technology professionals, you will translate operational requirements into practical AI-enabled solutions. This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced telecom or network professional who wants to play a hands-on role in the evolution of AIOps and intelligent network operations.
- Configure, test, optimize, and manage management and monitoring tools supporting managed services environments.
- Contribute to the configuration, enhancement, deployment, and maintenance of new use cases for AIOps platforms.
- Develop and maintain Model Context Protocol (MCP) integrations to enable effective communication between AI models and underlying data and operational systems.
- Build, maintain, and optimize automation workflows that reduce repetitive manual activities and improve operational efficiency.
- Translate network strategies, architectures, operational requirements, and NOC workflows into practical AI-powered and agentic automation solutions.
- Collaborate with network engineers, business analysts, architects, and other technical stakeholders to design and implement effective managed services solutions.
- Perform configuration changes, updates, testing, troubleshooting, and deployment activities across enterprise management and monitoring environments.
- Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting support to technology professionals working on managed services initiatives.
- Contribute to technical documentation, operational procedures, and solution knowledge bases.
- Support the ongoing transformation of network operations by identifying opportunities to apply automation, AI, and intelligent workflows to complex operational challenges.
- Balance multiple technical priorities and projects while maintaining quality, reliability, and delivery timelines.
- Act as a technical lead or subject-matter expert on automation and development initiatives when required.
- 5+ years of professional experience as a telecom engineer, network developer, AI solutions consultant, or similar technical professional within a communications service provider or technology solutions organization.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or an equivalent discipline.
- Strong foundation in telecom engineering, network operations, and automation, with the ability to apply technical expertise to modern AI-enabled environments.
- Advanced knowledge of networking and internetworking technologies, including IP, firewalls, Gigabit Ethernet, MPLS/VPN, QoS, network management protocols, and cloud-based services.
- Hands-on programming experience with Python and/or JavaScript, along with experience developing API integrations.
- Practical experience working with Linux and Windows environments, virtualization technologies, and containerized platforms.
- Ability to quickly learn and become proficient with enterprise management, monitoring, automation, and AI toolsets.
- Strong understanding of telecom industry trends, NOC operations, managed services environments, and emerging AI technologies.
- Demonstrated ability to translate complex network processes and operational workflows into automation or AI-driven solutions.
- Experience serving as a technical lead on automation, software development, or technology transformation projects.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to address complex technical issues independently.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with engineers, architects, business analysts, and other stakeholders.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and multiple projects in a fast-paced technical environment.
- Preferred: Government of Canada Level 2 Secret security clearance.
- Preferred: Advanced knowledge of software development and machine learning concepts.
- Preferred: Industry certifications in AI, cloud technologies such as GCP, or networking technologies such as Cisco, Juniper, or Palo Alto.
- Preferred: Knowledge of IT service management processes and platforms, including Incident, Problem, Change Management, CMDB, and ServiceNow.
