The James American Brasserie in Babylon is actively seeking rock star cooks! Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Engage with guests and colleagues in a professional manner.

• Uphold service standards to ensure a memorable guest experience.

• Prepare, cook and artfully plate a multitude of different items using multiple cooking techniques

• Ability to work multiple stations of the line throughout the course of a shift (garde manger/sautee/grill/broiler/fry)

• Maintain a safe, sanitary, and organized work environment.

• Work collaboratively with all departments to ensure we are meeting our high standards of hospitality and guest satisfaction.

• Have a positive and professional attitude at all times.

• Perform job-related activities as required or assigned by a manager.

Competitive compensation $18/h - $25/h based on Experience

Qualifications:

• At least 4 years of kitchen experience in a Long island or New York City fine dining restaurant

• Strong understanding of food preparation techniques

• Strong understanding of food safety

• Strong knowledge and interest in food and beverage with a sincere interest in the hospitality industry.

• Great communication skills, professional demeanor and appearance.

• Able to work in a team environment and welcome feedback and direction. • Capable of standing for prolonged periods of time.

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

• Ability to reach, bend, stoop, climb up and down stairs, walk, and carry multiple objects.
