Job Description
We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented, and student-focused Director of Financial Aid to lead the Financial Aid Department at our Haverhill, MA campus. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional who is passionate about helping students access education while ensuring full compliance with federal, state, and institutional regulations.
The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of Title IV financial aid processes, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to effectively communicate complex financial aid information to students and staff.
This position requires a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings and weekends, based on campus and student needs.
What You’ll DoAs the Director of Financial Aid, you will oversee all aspects of the campus financial aid process, including:
- Managing daily Financial Aid Department operations
- Ensuring compliance with U.S. Department of Education (USDE), state, and accrediting agency regulations
- Reviewing and processing student financial aid applications and supporting documentation
- Assisting students with Pell Grants, federal loans, and other funding sources
- Preparing award letters and loan disbursements
- Reviewing ISIRs, verification documents, and student files for accuracy and completeness
- Communicating with Admissions regarding student file status and outstanding documentation
- Applying Professional Judgment on a case-by-case basis when appropriate
- Maintaining accurate records, reports, and compliance documentation
- Supporting students throughout the financial aid process with professionalism and care
- Minimum 4 years of financial aid or related administrative experience
- Strong understanding of financial aid processes and documentation
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and follow-through
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations
- Bachelor’s degree
- Experience working in proprietary schools approved for Title IV funding
- Experience with financial aid systems and compliance management
- Professional development or certifications related to financial aid
