Job Description
The Chemistry Technician supports laboratory and plant operations by performing chemical analyses, maintaining laboratory equipment, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. This role is responsible for collecting and testing samples, documenting results, and assisting in process optimization to support efficient and safe operations.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
- Collect, label, and prepare samples for chemical analysis.
- Perform daily monitoring, sampling, and analyses associated with fuel, water, air, and environmental treatment programs.
- Record, analyze, and report test results accurately and in a timely manner.
- Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments and equipment.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and environmental standards.
- Assist in maintaining inventory of laboratory supplies and chemicals.
- Support quality control and process improvement initiatives.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment.
- Collaborate with operations and engineering teams to support plant performance.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Chemistry, Chemical Technology, or a related field is preferred. Equivalent experience may be considered.
- Prior laboratory or industrial experience is preferred.
- Basic understanding of chemical principles, laboratory procedures, and analytical techniques.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions, standard operating procedures, and safety protocols.
- Strong attention to detail with accurate data recording and reporting skills.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office, data entry systems).
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to pass pre-employment background check and drug screening.
Compensation, Schedule & Benefits
- Full-time, hourly (non-exempt) position.
- Starting pay of $46.36 per hour, compensation commensurate with qualifications.

- Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the facility for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25–50 pounds as needed.
- Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including respirators if necessary.
- Ability to work in a laboratory and industrial environment with exposure to chemicals, noise, and varying temperatures.
- Manual dexterity to handle laboratory instruments and equipment.
