Located on the beautiful University of Utah campus, the newly renovated Salt Lake City Marriott University Park is committed to delivering exceptional guest experiences while fostering a people-first workplace culture. The People & Training Manager will oversee all Human Resources functions for the property, serving as a strategic partner to hotel leadership and a champion for employee engagement, training, and professional development. This role will utilize Paylocity to support HR operations, onboarding, compliance, and team member support.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead full-cycle recruitment, onboarding, and retention initiatives
- Serve as a trusted advisor on employee relations, coaching, and performance management
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
- Drive employee engagement, recognition, and culture-building programs
- Maintain accurate HR records, reporting, and personnel documentation
- Partner with StepStone Hospitality leadership on workforce planning and staffing strategies
- Coordinate and support training, development, and succession planning initiatives
- Promote a positive, inclusive, and service-oriented work environment

Requirements:- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
- 3–5+ years of Human Resources experience, preferably within hospitality or lifestyle brands
- Experience working within the Marriott brand portfolio, preferably in a full-service hotel environment
- Proficiency with HRIS platforms; Paylocity experience strongly preferred
- Strong knowledge of employment laws, HR practices, and compliance standards
- Excellent communication, leadership, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with professionalism and discretion
- Strong training, coaching, and employee engagement skills
