Job Summary:
We are seeking a full-time Registered Medical Assistant for our Nashua St. Jail location in Boston MA.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct care to include gathering vital signs such as temperature, blood pressure, pulse and respiration rates, food, and fluid intake and output.
- Perform and assist offenders with feeding, basic hygiene and other activities of daily living.
- Perform timely, accurate and concise documentation of patient care in the approved format.
- Identify and maintain professional boundaries to preserve the integrity of the therapeutic process and relationship.
- Ensure compliance with all facility and CPS policies, and Federal and state laws, regulations and guidelines including HIPPA
- Coordinate care closely with custody staff while maintaining a positive, collaborative relationship.
- Maintain ethical commitment to ensure confidentiality within the limits of a correctional environment.
- Deliver care to offenders in a nonjudgmental/nondiscriminatory manner to protect the autonomy, dignity, and rights of offenders.
- Understand and adhere to security rules and regulations of the institution.
- Other duties as assigned.
Schedule:
Mon-Fri 6:45am - 3:15pm
Salary:
$21-$26 pending experience
Requirements:Qualifications & Education:
- High School
- CPR certification required
- Experience with blood draws a MUST
- Prior employment history within the medical field
- Must be able to pass a facility background clearance
Physical Requirements:
- Regularly required to stand; sit; use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop; kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk and hear.
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds; occasionally lift and/or move over 35 pounds.
- Regularly able to adequately perform CPR.
