Job Description

The Loss Prevention Training Lead is responsible for the training, development, and ongoing education of Loss Prevention Coordinators across the enterprise. This role focuses on building technical expertise, strengthening investigative consistency, improving coaching effectiveness, and ensuring compliance with internal safety standards and DOT/FMCSA regulations. This role serves as the subject matter expert and primary educator for Loss Prevention team members, developing training programs, facilitating onboarding, conducting quality audits, and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement. This position plays a critical role in creating a standardized, high-performing Loss Prevention function by equipping team members with the knowledge, tools, and coaching needed to effectively reduce risk and support operational safety initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and facilitate onboarding training for newly hired Loss Prevention Coordinators.
  • ⁠Create and deliver ongoing development training for Loss Prevention team members to enhance technical knowledge and coaching effectiveness.
  • Conduct quality audits on accident reviews, driver coaching documentation, and safety committee submissions to ensure consistency and accuracy.
  • Evaluate team member performance and identify development opportunities through audits, coaching observations, and case reviews.
  • Partner with Safety Leadership to identify trends, skill gaps, and operational training needs.
  • Develop training materials, reference guides, job aids, and SOP documentation for the Loss Prevention team.
  • Facilitate refresher training and targeted development sessions based on audit findings or operational changes.
  • Support department initiatives related to process improvements and training enhancements.
  • Stay current on FMCSA, DOT, and industry regulations to ensure training remains compliant and effective.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong training facilitation and adult learning skills.
  • Strong coaching and mentoring abilities.
  • Strong knowledge of DOT regulations, FMCSA compliance, CSA, and transportation safety practices.
  • Strong investigative and root cause analysis skills.
  • Ability to audit work quality and provide constructive feedback.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to identify trends and develop actionable training strategies.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and safety-related systems.

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Transportation, Safety, Training & Development, or related field preferred. Relevant experience may substitute for education.
  • 3+ years of transportation safety, loss prevention, or compliance experience preferred.
  • Prior training, coaching, or team development experience preferred.
  • Experience with safety investigations, coaching practices, and regulatory compliance preferred.

The posted range reflects the full pay band for the position. The expected pay range below represents where most candidates are hired, based on experience, skills, and internal equity. Candidates with more extensive or highly relevant experience may be considered toward the higher end of the overall pay band.

  • Expected Pay Range: $21.60-$24.40
  • Full Pay Range: $21.60-$33.40
  • Pay Grade: 7
