This senior leadership role sits at the heart of designing the financial and operational backbone of a complex enterprise platform serving the trades industry. You will define and drive the end-to-end product design vision across critical back-office workflows such as accounting, invoicing, purchasing, inventory, and project financials. The role combines strategic leadership with hands-on design system thinking, shaping how thousands of users interact with mission-critical workflows every day. You will lead and grow a high-performing design organization while partnering closely with product and engineering leaders to deliver cohesive, scalable experiences. This is a highly influential position where you will set design standards, guide product direction, and champion user-centered innovation. You will also play a key role in embedding AI-assisted design practices to accelerate creativity, decision-making, and execution at scale.
- Lead the end-to-end product design strategy for complex back-office systems, ensuring a unified and intuitive experience across AP, AR, purchasing, inventory, and financial workflows.
- Build, mentor, and scale a high-performing team of product designers and design managers, fostering excellence, accountability, and continuous growth.
- Define and evolve design standards, systems, and processes that balance speed, quality, and usability across multiple product streams.
- Partner with product, engineering, and cross-functional leaders to shape roadmaps, prioritize initiatives, and ensure alignment with business goals.
- Drive user-centered design practices through deep user research, insights, and testing across multiple customer segments.
- Influence product strategy by identifying high-impact opportunities and translating user needs into scalable design solutions.
- Champion accessibility, inclusive design, and consistent UX quality across all product experiences.
- Oversee team planning, resource allocation, and project prioritization to ensure effective delivery and performance.
- Integrate AI-enabled tools and modern design practices to improve efficiency, creativity, and product innovation.
- Extensive experience in product design leadership within SaaS, enterprise, or complex platform environments.
- Proven track record of building and managing design teams of 10+ people, including designers and design managers.
- Strong expertise in solving complex UX challenges and simplifying highly intricate workflows into intuitive user experiences.
- Hands-on familiarity with AI-assisted design tools (e.g., Figma, Cursor, Claude, or similar) and an openness to evolving design practices.
- Experience designing or contributing to AI-driven or agentic workflows where users interact with system-generated outputs.
- Strong leadership and coaching abilities with a track record of developing high-performing design talent.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills across executive and cross-functional teams.
- Strong prioritization, organizational, and decision-making skills in fast-paced environments.
- Ability to influence product direction and drive alignment across multiple teams and disciplines.
- Passion for creating scalable, user-centered design systems that balance business and user needs.
- Competitive compensation package including base salary ranging from approximately $223,600 to $299,100, plus bonus and equity eligibility.
