This role offers the opportunity to contribute directly to large-scale infrastructure and connectivity projects by capturing high-precision roadway imagery and mapping data. You will operate a specially equipped vehicle featuring 360° camera systems and LiDAR technology, supporting data collection efforts that enable smarter planning and development of critical infrastructure across Canada. The position is fully travel-based and ideal for individuals who enjoy independent fieldwork, structured routes, and long hours on the road. You will follow detailed mapping plans while ensuring accurate and consistent data capture in real-world driving conditions. Full training is provided, making this an excellent opportunity for someone reliable, safety-focused, and eager to work with advanced geospatial technology. This is a hands-on field role where precision, discipline, and consistency directly support impactful infrastructure intelligence.

Accountabilities:

In this role, you will be responsible for safely executing mobile mapping routes and ensuring high-quality data capture through precise field operations.

  • Drive assigned mobile mapping routes safely and accurately while following detailed daily instructions and schedules.
  • Operate and monitor vehicle-mounted 360° camera and LiDAR equipment during data collection activities.
  • Conduct basic vehicle and equipment checks before, during, and after shifts to ensure operational readiness.
  • Follow structured route plans and maintain accurate progress throughout long-distance driving assignments.
  • Maintain consistent communication with internal project teams regarding progress, issues, or delays.
  • Escalate technical, route, or operational issues promptly to ensure minimal disruption to data collection.
  • Ensure vehicle cleanliness, security, and proper handling of all mapping equipment.
  • Complete daily reporting and confirm route completion and data capture accuracy.
  • Support reliable and consistent geospatial data collection across assigned regions.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate is a dependable, safety-conscious driver who is comfortable working independently in a structured, travel-heavy field environment.

  • Ability to commit to full-time travel for the duration of the assignment.
  • Comfortable driving 8–12 hours per day over extended periods.
  • Strong ability to work independently while following detailed instructions and route plans.
  • Basic comfort with GPS systems, mobile devices, and simple technical troubleshooting.
  • High level of reliability, punctuality, and attention to safety standards.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and maintain consistent daily performance on the road.
  • Willingness to arrange personal accommodations while traveling across assigned regions.
  • Previous experience in field work, driving roles, or technical equipment handling is an asset but not required.
Benefits:
  • Competitive hourly rate of $25–$30/hour depending on experience.
  • Travel-related expenses covered, including fuel reimbursement.
  • Daily $300 allowance for meals and accommodations while on assignment.
  • Full training provided on equipment, data collection processes, and reporting tools.
  • Opportunity to work with advanced mapping technologies such as LiDAR and 360° imaging systems.
  • Exposure to large-scale infrastructure and connectivity projects across Canada.
  • Independent, field-based role with significant autonomy and structured support.
  • Potential for contract extension or transition to a permanent role based on project needs.
